Washington -- LUCKY THOUGH he was, Bill Clinton never had his shot at greatness. He could lower the jobless rate, balance the budget, console us after the Oklahoma City bombing.
But he never got the opportunity George W. Bush was given this Tuesday: the historic chance to lead. Our American spirit, power and enterprise now stand ready for orders. Only the president can give them.

Memo to Chris Matthews: SHUT UP!!!
Then SHUT UP, Matthews, and let Bush and the military and intel agencies work out a plan. This is a new kind of warfare, moron, and answers are not gonna come overnight. It took us years to get to this problem, and it will take years to eliminate it.
LUCKY THOUGH he was, Bill Clinton never had his shot at greatness. [snip]Yeah, Bush is real lucky right now.But he never got the opportunity George W. Bush was given this Tuesday: the historic chance to lead.
Matthews ought to be ashamed.
But, I bet you Clinton feels this. I bet he saw what happened and thought to himself, "why could I have not been so lucky?"
He could lower the jobless rate,He did nothing to do this.
balance the budget,He did not even attempt to do this until after Republicans took over the House and forced it upon him.
console us after the Oklahoma City bombing. He felt our pain, he bit his lip, he wagged his finger, he sold pardons, sold secrets, wasted tons of cash on travelling the world, left our economy in disrepair, left our military and intelligence communities in even worse disrepair.
But he never got the opportunity George W. Bush was given this Tuesday: the historic chance to lead.
Matthews is sick. Trying to compare Bush to Klinton while thousansds of Americans are buried in rubble. An opportunity? In wonder how many lives Matthews is willing to sacrifice for an "opportunity" to lead.
BTW - Klinton rarely led, but he polled instead.
How crass and inappropriate. Not to mention a sick time to perpetuate revisionist history about Clintoon.
No. The goal is to regain my right to keep and bear a pocket-knife.
There is something very distressing about viewing militant enemies parading in front of the cameras waving thier AK-47s. Here is Kalifornia I am denied possession of my rifle because it has a pistol grip on it.
What is wrong with the people of our country that they choose weakness instead of strength? What is wrong with Chris Matthews that he does not wonder about a plane load of passengers who are helpless in the face of a box-cutter?
It is no wonder that every bully in the world chooses us as a target.
So shut up, listen more, and speak less. You're about to learn something about the way these things are properly conducted.
One of the things I love about Bush is that I know he'd live and die a happy man if he'd never come close to this sort of tragedy--that it would never enter his mind to welcome it as "a chance to prove himself." What narcissistic crap! People who think that way should scarcely be allowed to drive a car, much less run a country.
In 1993 When Bill Clinton was president one of the very same Twin Towers that is now nothing more than a pile of rubble was attacked by the very same Arab terrorist groups that are in all probability responsible for or connected to this attack. Bill Clinton had innumerable chances for a shot at greatness but he preferred a shot at the Monica Lewinsky of the day instead.

Crass and inappropriate??
How about deliberate denigration of the President of the United States? The poster boy, of whom Matthews is but just one candidate for the effite snobs of the media, also implies that Dubya lacks not only courage but the wherewithal to lead the country -
"If Bush is smart, he will tell the American people exactly what we're dealing with here: a smart, state-of-the-art, ruthless enemy whose route to eternal glory is over our dead bodies.
If Bush is smart, he knows that the hijackers have anticipated -- and discounted -- his own next steps as well. He will share that fact as well with the American people. "
If anyone is to be on a sheiser list it is Chriss Matthews, a partisan no good bastard masquerading as a patriot...
