September 13, 2001 -- Three men who celebrated as the Twin Towers crumbled are facing deportation, The Post has learned.
The men, described as illegal immigrants from the Middle East, were arrested Tuesday afternoon in a white Chevy van near the Meadowlands based on a tip from witnesses who saw them "cheering" and "jumping up and down" in Liberty State Park after the attack, a source said.

Right now, they're just illegal immigrants. But a few days in a bare cement holding cell might allow the FBI time to turn up something. These guys are lucky the natives just reported them. Had it been a group of Wyoming cowboys, they may have been shown a special brand of western hospitality.</font face>

Agreed... Here's an email that I sent to fox & friends on just that topic:
Dear Fox and Friends,
Let me start by saying that the victims, families, and survivors are in my prayers. I was scheduled to be in New York this week for a computer training class, just a few blocks from the World Trade Center, but the plans were cancelled last month.
I have been unable to sleep and find that I'm really disgusted with myself for what I believe is the only response that the United States has to this attack. Terrorists can only function by the belief that "civilized" people are not able to respond in kind, and are therefor weak and powerless before them. The sponsors and supporters of terrorists MUST be made aware that this sort of attack is far too expensive to ever happen again. I believe that there's a very good chance that the loss of life at the WTC may exceed the greatest single day loss of life that this country has ever experienced during war time, including the Normany invasion, Iwo Jima, or even any of the battles of the Civil War, where all of the casualties were American!
The United States military must be absolutely ruthless, and the public MUST steel itself against the terrible and disgusting images that will come from a ruthless response. Saddam Hussien (sp?) survived because the US government feared that the public would turn against the Gulf War after the "Highway of Death."
Terrorist groups survive by hiding in population centers, among civilians. The governments of those countries, as well as the civilian population, MUST be made to realize that we can no longer allow "civilization" to ignore the fact that these groups ignore those ideal that protect them from reprisal. They must be made to understand that it is their responsibility to force these people out of their midsts. The response must be ruthless, brutal, and completely out of proportion. Since World War II, the western countries have been hamstrung in fighting wars by the belief that we can't go after civilian populations... I wonder how WWII would have ended if the Allies hadn't used all-out war. Of course there was a tremendous loss of innocent life: Look at the firebombing of Dresden, which I believe had a higher casualty rate than Hiroshima. There's a good chance that the only reason that the Allies won was probably because the people at home were unaware of the brutality of the war, and they allowed the military to do what needed to be done. As you're well aware, even today a debate on whether or not the atomic bombs should have been dropped is still being waged.
Every population center of Afganistan should be carpet bombed. Of course, the leaders will have escaped to the mountains, where the Soviets were stymied. Tactical nuclear weapons should be used in the mountainous regions to ensure that all of the leaders die. If Iraq can be shown to have financed the attack, then every city in Iraq must be destroyed. Any other country that sponsors terrorist groups must be put on alert that although we know they've been doing it in the past, it will no longer be tolerated.
Any country that sponsors terrorist groups must be made to pay a horrible price. The only way to beat these groups is to destroy them completely. The supporters of terrorism need to realize that their actions will not only place themselves are risk, but the lives and fortunes of everyone they know, their families, and their countries.
As I mentioned earlier, I am disgusted with myself for these thoughts, but I believe that it's the only way to ensure that this never happens again.
I apologise if I am rambling and don't make much sense, but as I mentioned, I haven't gotten much sleep over the last few nights.
