I Urge An End To Calls For Retaliation Against "Islam"
Self | September 11, 2001 | Self

Posted on 09/11/2001 4:07:58 PM PDT by Illbay

Just above the text box into which I'm typing, it says, and I quote, "NO racist or violence posts."

Ladies and Gentlemen, FReepers of every race, CREED and color, I urge an immediate moratorium on the nauseatingly bigoted comments directed against "Islam," or "Muslims," or any negative reference to anyone strictly because of his or her religion. FR is no place for this trash, and I'd like to publicly call on the Esteemed Moderators to hunt down and erase all such tripe from FR.

>"This constitiutes about 1 percent of all Muslims, though."

>Cite, please. I smell bullshit.

Why don't you cite. You and several others like to paint an entire religion with a very broad brush, and yet you overlook the fact that there have been several horrible things done in the name of our religion, just in the past 10 years alone.

Killing in the name of religion is pure cowardice, no matter the religion. Anybody who tries to hide behind any religion or speak of "religious duty" is the lowest of the lowest of cowards.

We need to learn from the Isrealis and go and wipe out every member of the terrorist groups and those who support them. We do not need to wipe out every member of their religion - God will judge us harshly if we do. When I die, I will goto Heaven. Those of you who want to kill innocents, where will you go?

Call for Volunteers : Discuss on this thread why it's alright to not label all Christians as evil based on the actions of small groups of Christian extremists over the past 10 years, but it's alright to label all Moslems as evil based on the actions of small groups of Moslem extremist. No personal attacks.

Tell me, why I as a Christian, should not be labeled as evil based on Christian extremists, and yet my friends who are Moslem and love this country as much as anybody (more so because many of them fled their country because of persecution and are now able to practice their beliefs freely here) should be labeled as evil because of the actions of Moslem extremists several continents away.

I am convinced that the attack on the WTC was intended to create such massive international hostility towards Moslems that even secularised ones and the comparatively tolerant Sunni branch would be forced willy-nilly into throwing their support to the Taliban types.

That has occurred to me as well. They may well serve to "radicalize" those Muslims who otherwise would not be "radical," but who are declared "enemies" by those in America. In other words, they want us to do their recruiting for them.

These people are evil, evil, evil, but they are NOT stupid, not by a long shot. They have been working toward this end for a very long time, and I hope and PRAY that our leaders and our people now realize it, and wake up.

Benjamin Netanyahu, in several interviews I've seen with him, has asked the question: Do we really want to see these people with tactical nuclear weapons? They'll have them within 5 to 10 years. Do we not need to take them out NOW, before they are able to entrench themselves and before they are able to radicalize many more of the Islamic world?

I pray it is not too late yet, and that we have the resolve to clearly see who this enemy is, and how dangerous they are.

...he'd be identifying the evil at work here, and it IS radical Islam.

And it bears repeating: "The enemy here IS radical Islam."

But I submit it goes beyond that to those cynical "leaders" (read "thugs") in the Arab world who don't have a religious bone in their bodies, but who will blithely use radical Islamic extremism to their own ends.

Most prominent of these are Saddam Hussein and Mohammar Ghaddaffi. Those creeps are so smarmy in their manipulation and sponsoring of terrorism it is nauseating to watch.

There are others of the same ilk (in fact, a report I read recently on bin Laden is that he really was never known to be a pious Muslim. His ire against the U.S. was kindled when the Saudi government allowed U.S. troops into the country during the Gulf War).

The firebrands of this terrorist threat are not even religious, that I can see. Food for thought.

I know Arafat is not a Moslem, he's a total hypocrite. Don't know that much about bin Laden, but I just found this link Documents about bin Laden

ILLbay...it depends on what statements you are talking about. Are people degrading them? Or are people asking legitimate questions about the loyalties of US Muslims in a possible "Holy War"?

Because that is not bigoted. And we have our lives to think about. We are at war! Even Hillary Clinton would not rule out the necessity of "racial profiling" today on THIS WEEK WITH SAM AND COKIE.

I've already stated, in several locations, that I believe STRONGLY that all persons of Middle Eastern origin, who are here in the U.S. on visas, no matter what their religion, should now have their visas expired and given a reasonable amount of time to leave the country. That includes students, and even those who are working here now.

This is for their protection as well as the internal security of the U.S. It is a reasonable action to take in light of what is going on, and in light of the fact that those who did this deed had been here, in many cases, for several years, living and working or going to school and partaking of all the advantages of life in a free society.

In fact, they used that freedom to their advantage in planning this attack.

Everyone from North Africa to Pakistan should now leave, with the exception of those with Israeli citizenship.

and yet my friends who are Moslem and love this country

Tell me how I can tell which one of your friends is carrying around anthrax spores, or who is carrying false pilot papers. By every report, the terrorists seemed to be very nice, harmless people until they murdered all our fellow citizens in NY. How can you tell which ones aren't smiling while they slice the throat of my child? These people have showed they can live in our neighborhoods, go to school with us, work with us, smile and pretend they are our friends but they showed they can betray us very badly.

Sieg Heil, Don. You are the one who wants to blame an entire religion over something a few members did. How many Muslims do you even know?

>When arafat goes on record condemning terror, do you believe him?

When clinton would go on record saying this or that, do you believe him ;-)

People focus on arafat too much, he's a politician, twising in the wind, going along with whatever will keep him in office, he might as well be herding cats. When he speaks against terror, he may very well believe it (if he didn't I think the Mossad would take him out rather quickly), but he has no control over many palestinian groups; his police confiscate the video of the small groups cheering the bombing, because of the simple fact they can't control them and they don't want people thinking that all palestinians are so f'ed up.

The problem is, people focus on arafat too much and not the extremist palestinian groups hiding under umbrella of palestinians. When you hear on the news of Israeli's killing 8 people in a raid or 10 people there, these aren't arafat's palestinians they are killiing, these are the people that are cheering on the wtc terrorists, these are the people that blow up cafes and discos.

I think many people don't realize that when President Bush says this maybe a protracted war, he means an Isreali style conflict. The Israeli's can't kill every palestinian in existence, just as we can't kill every Moslem (although some here would like to) because it would be morally wrong and go against not just our ethics, but for those of us who are Christian or Jewish, it would go against the teachings of the Bible. We are going to have to kill these terrorists 10 and 12 and 6 people at a time in various locations at various times. It's not going to be pretty to hear American troops have killed 10 today, 15 yesterday, etc. but that's what we have to do.

You mean your not capable of explaining your position with any sort of clarity. And what does, "Don't tread on me" have to do with it?

Moslem happened to be in the US Army

After witnessing the lives of many thousands Americans end in ashes in the rubble of the WTC in NY, by Moslems who infiltrated our society and learned our system, can you really prove that this Moslem was in the US Army for only good intentions or was he spying for Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein? If he was a born US citizen, then I wouldn't question but if only recently arrived and joined the army, I'd be very suspicious.
