As I, like most Americans have sat transfigured and appalled this day as thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of my countrymen have been killed, I can only contemplate and comment on what I feel we as a people MUST do in the face of this.

NOTHING in our history compares to this.

I expect that the losses will approach and maybe exceed 20,000 in terms of deaths.

We MUST exact a swift, horrific and lasting retribution against any organization that did this AND against ANY nation that abetted it.

Once we know who those organizations and nations are, I believe thus use of tactical nuclear devices is in order and would make the statement to those responsible and to the world to NEVER EVER consider such action against the USA again.

... I know I am completely diraught over this. I know I am speaking emotionally.

But I believe just the same that such a response is necessary. The pictures of those explosions, and particularly of those buildings collapsing ... and KNOWING what it meant as it happend, are etched on my consciousness until the day I die.

Let these pictures be a warning to America! Let them AWAKEN AN AWFUL AND A SOBER RESOLVE ... NEVER AGAIN!

May God grant His rest to the souls of those departed, to the bodies of those traumitized and to the families of all of them ... every one. May we as a people seek His hand and His aide in responding to this above all else ... and may His terrible hand be against those enemies who have visited this terror on our soil. Algore is probably glad this morning that he lost the election! My neice is in Philadelphia on business. 2 babies at home in Oregon. Maybe people will learn to stay home.

ABC news reporting President will be making a statement from Barksdale AFB, in Northeastern Louisiana! Not confirmed yet though. Sounds like he wanted to get as close to Texas as he could. Nah, probably part of pre planned emergency plan. But I would feel better with him on the most remote AFB he can find. Maybe inside the Mountain. Plenty of com there. Can't get any more secure than that either.
