FReepers, whether you are a Buchanan supporter, Keyes supporter, Bush or Browne supporter, let's put our differences behind us. We are Americans first and we have been attacked. Now is the time to come together and support our leaders and pray that they make the best informed decisions.

Just heard on the radio, that the Red Cross needs money, too. I can't give blood too cuz of some meds I'm taking but I CAN give the money. I wanted you to know this. I wasn't able to get the number, my GS was talking....the web site was http://www.redcross.org
Do a search first, PLEASE, as I think it's "org".....
Hugh Hewitt just said that The President's going to speak 1/2 an hour earlier than planned. Head's up and Bump for the getting out of work folks.

Thank you for putting aside politics, and thank you for supporting our country and our President.

Thanks for the flag, Bel and I'd like to respond in kind but reading further down the thread it seems as if it will be impossible for some to do this, eh?

It's a fact, that would be assailents are much less likely to commit a crime if they think their victim will be armed.
Hence, the 2nd amendment. In the air, no diff than on the ground. One of the reasons they do highjack planes is because they know there will be no defense once they can sneak on the plane.

The terror of today is the direct result of the loose immigration policy that has allowed thousands of Islamic militants to enter this country. Rid us of Arab and moslem immigrants NOW!

In the air, no diff than on the ground. Can you carry guns into other people homes, or into other peoples vehicles? Airplanes are not public property. Airlines have every right to decide what can and cannot be allowed on board.

The Candle Has Been Lit - Wife Upstairs doing it now!! Join in, everybody!!

So if the Airplane decided they wanted to arm their crew and pilot crew you would have no qualms with that.

I'm ok with that. That's not statism. That's corporations making decision. No probs with that. I'm talking about government mandated controls of these companies and other things.

My goodness! I had no idea you could be too old to give blood. If I were you, I would call my local Red Cross office. Even if you are too old to give blood (and I'm honored to be talking to someone who must be ... what? 3 or 4 hundred? ;o), I'll bet you could give platelets.
They're also saying that a lot of people had their clothes blown off, and they're collecting clothing. That may be taken care of already. One thing, though, that will be needed is money for the families of survivors, and for burials. I'll bet that donations to the fund for familes of firefighters, police, and other rescue workers who ran in to save their fellow Americans, and died doing it, would be greatly appreciated.
And, of course, whatever our religions are, and however it is that we pray, we can always do that.

That's kind of silly, don't you think? We used to carry guns on planes. Pilots, or some member of the crew up front, were required to. Airlines, btw, didn't have much to say about it ... the government disarmed us, not the airlines.

Btw, Gig 'em. College Station is my home town.

We have been attacked. This means War! As a Nation we cannot stop until we have eliminated all of the terrorists and their protectors.
This Cannot Stand!
Rangers, Seals, the Marines!
If the country harboring terrorist will not allow an overfly, bomb them instead! Then do the overfly.
Cockroaches and spiders should be eliminated, and we should do it RIGHT NOW! We have to make them pay big time. Make them want to find these terrorists and kill them. Make them think that if these people are their neighbors, they deserve to die.
We have to stop letting little countries harbor this kind of people.
Period.

What can anyone do in the face of an attack? Stand by helplessly while you're threatened with box cutters? Get real! What are you advocating, here? Being led to slaughter? That's what happened today ... can you seriously be saying that no one should be able to defend themselves?!?
And yes, by the way, I do carry a gun into other people's homes, and in their vehicles. If they don't want me to, I don't go into them.
Why do the police carry guns, if they're virtually helpless in a hostage situation? Surely they would be better off just putting their guns down and ... what?
If members of the crews on those planes had been trained in using firearms IN planes, among people, and had weapons available to them, I believe (not know, but believe) that thousands of people would now be alive who no longer are.
While I'm hollering, here, let me agree with you about one thing. IF the airlines decided that people could no longer be armed on airplanes, I would just decide to go or not go, and everyone else could do the same. That would be their right, and mine. And, of course, the airlines would be responsible, still, for the safety of those passengers. However, the airlines did not make that regulation voluntarily. THAT is what I object to.

That's Demidog's thread. Leave it to you so-called Patriots to use this to divide our nation when thousands have died in a terrorist attack. Go back into your bunker and count your bullets and hoard your MRE's. While you and others trade away our freedoms for safety.
Okay. Have fun.

How would you like if a family member had died in that incident and a person next to you was saying, "Oh great, another reason to take away our freedom." I wouldn't care. My family is my own. I care about my family's opinions; my friends opinions; I don't care about Joe Blow's opinion. I do not expect others to greive for what I greive for. I don't expect them to care about what I care about.
I guess I'm just an insensitive jerk.
