FReepers, whether you are a Buchanan supporter, Keyes supporter, Bush or Browne supporter, let's put our differences behind us. We are Americans first and we have been attacked. Now is the time to come together and support our leaders and pray that they make the best informed decisions.

he flagged jim rob so I doubt he'll be ban if he already hasn't. While his post may be tasteless, he is right on target. Statistis will use this to take away more liberties and freedoms of the American people. I havent' read IHC's post(s) yet.

This is no time to address that. No laws are currently being made.

How would you like if a family member had died in that incident and a person next to you was saying, "Oh great, another reason to take away our freedom."

Yes, freedom lovers are 'dividers' cause you want to take away the rest of our freedom. Nice logic there buddy

You, sir, can go to hell.

Within 12 hours would surprise even me. Although I saw several FReepers on here suggest we needed to get rid of more liberty and freedom

How would you like if a family member had died in that incident and a person next to you was saying, "Oh great, another reason to take away our freedom."

I have several friends with family in that exact area who have not heard from them since this morning!

And I would turn around and say, you're right, if those people had been allowed to exercise their 2nd amendment rights on those planes, they probably wouldn't have been hijacked and no one would have died. Then I'd add that if we got the hell out of NATO and the UN, we wouldn't that my family could have been saved also.

I'm still awaiting word from two friends in NYC; others are waiting for their friends and relatives to contact them. One of my friends cannot contact her son & brother, both in lower Manhattan. She is hysterical with fear.

I suggested to someone else who made those type of statements that they crawl into their bunkers, count their bullets and eat their MRE's.

This is OUR nation, OUR country, OUR friends and family who are under attack and some are so self-absorbed that the only concern they have is about their own personal freedoms and not the safety and welfare of our country. Narrow-minded freaks.

I'm a PROUD Buchanan supporter and I agree. However, if we had listened to Pat's warnings about the weakening of America instead of lining up to bash and ridicule him and other conservatives like Keyes and Bauer, we might not be talking about the greatest terrorist attack in world history to date. You think maybe the left-wing media and academic scumbags and political whores coulda been wrong? You damned betcha they were and we're payin' for it.

I am a liberal Democrat who voted for Clinton twice and voted for Gore last November. Needless to say, I am one of the most partisan Democrats you will ever meet.

Today, I am a Bush supporter 100% and anybody who does not support Bush 100% today is bordering on treason. There cna be no backing down. There can be no doubt to the rest of the world.

America first, America last, and America forever. Let the bastards who do this know, you will REAP THE WHIRLWIND OF AMERICAN RETRIBUTION. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS NOW AT WAR AND WE STAND UNITED!

WHAT!!!! What airline, even without FAA regulations, would be foolish enough to allow people to bring guns on board. You seem to think that if we all lived as cowboys did that we would be safe. I'm pro 2nd amendment, but guns on airplanes? HELL NO

What other precious freedoms are threatened? You must go through bigger metal detectors in airports? If you choose to fly, you consent to any test they place before you. There is no RIGHT to fly on airplanes paid for by others. Really what liberties do you see, realistically, threatened. I don't see any grounds for 2nd amendment debate over these incidents. No gun control would have prevented them. No limiting speech would have prevented them. Commandeering your personal property would not have prevented these incidents. I just don't see the threat. The threat I see is the terrorists and being killed by them. Why must everything be about laws?

for the duration of this state of war, i applaud your stand.

afterwards, we shall be enemies, because it's the scum you
supported that facilitated what occurred today.

but for the moment, bravo.

Fox News was just showing people jumping from the top stories of the twin towers.

When they were falling or what? Because of the fire?

Ya, the fire and smoke forced them out. Some held on to the edges and fell, some jumped. Some were burning as they jumped.

Why don't you research it and see if any airlines did before hand. I dont even necessarily mean that passengers carry weapons but say the pilots and crew have the ability to defend the plane.

If it doesn't get extended beyond checkpoints at airports, it won't be a big deal. However, I think this can easily be used for much more than that.

I can think of one law that this should change. I think we should allow our government to assassinate political figures in other countries.

Well they reported that flight crew were being stabbed. So if knifes were all they had, perhaps. But really what can a crew member do when a man willing to die holds a passenger as a hostage even with a weapon? Cops have guns but they are, pretty much, defenseless in hostage situations.

Better to have a few die than all die in the plane + possibly others (like today).

Easy to say now. But before, how are you to know what the terrorist has in mind? Should you just shoot through the passengers to get to them without a clue as to what the intentions of the armed man is?
