Why don't you research it and see if any airlines did before hand. I dont even necessarily mean that passengers carry weapons but say the pilots and crew have the ability to defend the plane.
What other precious freedoms are threatened? You must go through bigger metal detectors in airports? If you choose to fly, you consent to any test they place before you. There is no RIGHT to fly on airplanes paid for by others. Really what liberties do you see, realistically, threatened. I don't see any grounds for 2nd amendment debate over these incidents. No gun control would have prevented them. No limiting speech would have prevented them. Commandeering your personal property would not have prevented these incidents. I just don't see the threat. The threat I see is the terrorists and being killed by them. Why must everything be about laws?
If it doesn't get extended beyond checkpoints at airports, it won't be a big deal. However, I think this can easily be used for much more than that.
Well they reported that flight crew were being stabbed. So if knifes were all they had, perhaps. But really what can a crew member do when a man willing to die holds a passenger as a hostage even with a weapon? Cops have guns but they are, pretty much, defenseless in hostage situations.
