The headline on this thread was the first info I got that day - I rushed to the tv, thinking as I went that they must be referring to the huge tower in Malaysia (world's tallest building or structure) right? ... nothing like that happens here.

There are still 1000 people that were never identified.
There are still scores we have to settle.
I hope you islamists out there realize that you've awakened the sleeping giant.
I wouldn't sleep in the same bed two nights in a row if I were one of you cockroaches...

No, we will never forget.
And as we approach this election, regardless of our disagreements about domestic policy, let us remember that President Bush led us into battle against an evil foe, has defeated two nations, and will do everything he can to protect this nation.
Those in the other party are only interested in gaining power for themselves, even at the expense of American lives lost.
God bless President Bush, and may we continue to sand firm against those who would harm this country.

I work in aviation. My first thought when I heard that was; "Its a VFR day, guidance systems wouldnt have anything to do with it!" Exactly. Somebody issued an "official explanation", then belatedly realized that absolutely nobody would believe it

CNN is saying a faulty guidance systems are leading these to aircraft into the buildings. I was watching CNN in the dining room of my hotel when the second aircraft hit and heard this comment. Normally cursing at the TV like I did would get one thrown out of the hotel, but everyone else just laughed. I swear I never heard anything so lame in my life. I was yelling and throwing food at the screen for an hour.

I just stumbled across this link. I was not yet familiar with FR in the summer of 2001. But I was awake early that morning (PST) drinking coffee and watching the normally mundane news when this all began. I sat through every second of it. No, I will never forget. Leave it to the good folks of FreeRepublic to keep the flame that reminds us of who we are and what needs to be done.
I will be back often.

Thanks for bumping this up...
I still shed tears as I remember that day... I force myself to read the threads here every once in a while to remember and to mourn our nations fallen innocent. I've never re-read these threads without crying and I don't think I ever will be able to read them without crying.
I'm both proud and appalled at our nation after 9/11. We came together as brothers and sisters unlike anything since WW2. Then we passed the Patriot Act...
Since 9/11, I've looked at my life, the lives of my loved ones and the way the nation is going. We must be ever vigilant and ready to do battle for our way of life. We must not let the terrorists win through oppressive government actions.
We are the home of the free and the brave, we are AMERICA!
Bump for Freedom, Liberty, and the pursuit of Justice. Let no power strike America without receiving our most instant justice.

Thanks for the bump.
It's always good to remember the lost.
And why we're in this battle.

Why are the a**holes on CNN saying this was simply an accident? This is an attack on the USA!I do think you answered your own question. Just use words 3&4.

A reminder that Bush's re-election is one of the most important acts our country has ever faced. And a reminder of the evil of CNN and its RATmedia comrades.

Thank you. This should be a platform for reelection of GWB. Thank you liberals for your steadfast support of the enemy through your actions and inactions.
BASTARDS! I read too much here.
