Dems 'No Longer the Majority Party,' Says Democrat

Democrats are so far out in left field they are no longer a majority party, says a devastating new report - by a Democrat - that most news media are refusing to publicize.

Democrats have lost their hold on the people, especially the young and the poor, says a sharply critical study of voter participation in the 2000 elections by voter turnout specialist Curtis Gans, a lifelong Democrat, the Washington Times reported Saturday.

His party is "on the minority side of the cultural divide, in part, because of their advocacy of such things as gay rights, a woman's right to choose [a euphemism for abortion] and gun control," Gans said.

The party's stances "paint the picture of a Democrat Party both out of step with traditional values and pursuing the interests of fragments of the electorate at the expense of the whole," he said.

Gans concluded that "the Democrats have not found a coherent and overarching thread of advocacy," and except for environmentalism, "there is no large issue with which they are identified."

The Times noted: "With the approach of the 2002 midterm elections, when control of Congress and most of the nation's governorships will be up for grabs, the report by Mr. Gans' Committee for the Study of the American Electorate is not the kind of analysis Democrats want to see circulated right now. And his criticisms almost slipped by unnoticed.

"While the study's turnout numbers, showing a rise in voter participation last year, were widely reported when they were released last week, its criticisms of the Democratic Party were ignored by the news media."

Gans' report said, "What is incandescently clear is that the Democratic Party is no longer the majority party in America."

The Democrats "may gain some seats in 2002" because of the economic slump and because many more vulnerable Republican seats are at risk, he said.

"But they have lost their hold on the American electorate, no longer capture the idealism of the young and the poor, [who] no longer see the party as a place to repose their hopes," he said.

Gans noted declining voter registration and turnout numbers in recent decades and found that nothing was more significant than "what has happened to the Democratic Party."

Among the findings:

• "Democratic registration has fallen 30 percent, from a high of 48.3 percent in 1984 to 33.6 percent in 2000."

• "Since 1968, the Democrats have failed to get more than 25 percent of the eligible vote in every election with the one exception of 1976."

• "Since 1964, the Democrats have failed to get more than 50 percent of the votes cast with the one exception of 1976."

• Democrats controlled the Senate by an average majority of 20 seats between 1930 and 1994. "They now hold a slim one-seat majority after three elections in which they were in the minority."

• During this period, Democrats controlled the House "for all but four years and had an average majority of 94 seats. For the last four elections, they have been in the minority."

• The Democrats held most governorships for most of this period. Now there 29 Republican governors, 19 Democrats and two independents.

  Democratic National Committee spokesman William Buck told the Times, "I feel confident of the future prospects of the Democratic Party.

  "After all, we received half a million more votes in the presidential election last year," he claimed - apparently including the countless illegal votes of mostly Democrat felons and illegal aliens, the votes of Milwaukee derelicts bribed with cigarettes by New York limousine liberals, the votes from a St. Louis slum district illegally kept open late by a Democrat judge, the votes from Philadelphia slum precincts with unbelievable 100 percent turnout, ad nauseum.

As a practical matter it requires about $70,000,000 to start a viable political party that people will vote for knowing there is a chance of it succeeding. Perot had the money, but not the time or the tolerance for abuse.

And, actually, I would contend the political process is, if not under the control of, strongly influenced by the mainstream media -- who worship the crazies and the counter-culture.

Oh please, I'm glad to see you at least harbor the inkling of just how bogus those half million votes were. In New Mexico alone there were 5,000 more votes than registered voters.

Gore and his pal in Chicago should write a book on how to fumble stealing an election. We already know how they covered that fumble, by yelling "Election Theft" and pointing the finger, like a guilty older brother at the stupid Republicans who still sit there like chumps rather than confront or call them on it.

Of course, the Party of Jefferson is no more. That Party died in the early 20th century. The modern DemocRAT Party is now the party of Karl Marx ... social[ist] democracy ... class warfare ... the Labor Party. Of course, all of these ideologies are foreign to the culture of U.S. economic and political freedom. So, it is not the least bit surprising that the vast majority of Americans would reject the RATs.
