This morning, agents of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service served a leader at the Klamath headgates, Barbara Martin, with legal papers, including a complaint, motion for a temporary restraining order and motion for an order to show cause, and a temporary restraining order, barring her from "occupying, entering upon the area within the fence surrounding the [headgates], [or] interfering with, impeding, damaging, or obstructing the operations of the Bureau of Reclamation water control head gate".

The Justice Department obtained the temporary restraining order without notice to Ms. Martin on Friday, August 31st, claiming that "the undersigned was unable to contact Ms. Martin, and therefore did not advise him [sic] of this application". No record is given of just what effort was made to contact Ms. Martin, who spends a great deal of time at the headgates and is easy to reach. The temporary restraining order contains a typo that suggests it has been in the works since August 23rd.

Though served on Saturday morning, the order requires Ms. Martin to appear before United States District Judge Ann Aiken at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4th, in Eugene, Oregon, which is hundreds of miles away from Klamath Falls. (Interested members of the public could presumably attend; the address is 211 E. 7th Avenue.) Judge Aiken is the same judge who previously denied relief to the irrigators.

The Supreme Court has declared that the First Amendment does not protect "advocacy . . . directed to inciting and producing imminent lawless action and [which] is likely to incite or produce such action" (Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444, 447 (1969)). The complaint thus includes, as an exhibit, a declaration from Special Agent Scott G. Pearson, who relies, in part, upon a "confidential informant". Agent Pearson declares that Ms. Martin "circulated through the crowd calling for participants to effect a 'citizens arrest' of the federal officers and repeatedly attempted to incite the crowd to physically occupy the headgate structure". Ms. Martin denies these allegations. The papers do not explain why walking upon the headgates amounts to "lawless action". By contract, the headgates are under the management and operation of the Klamath Irrigation District, not the Bureau of Reclamation.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District will discuss a revised schedule for adopting protection measures for water resources at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the district's office, 7601 Highway. 301 N., Tampa.

The agency will hear public comments on its timetable for setting minimum flows and levels. The levels limit the amount of water that can be withdrawn from rivers, lakes, aquifers and other sources. The current schedule is available at the agency's Web site, www.watermatters.org.

Naturally, as they are doing at Klamath, the Feds of the SW FLorida Water District have set these hearings, not in SW Florida, but for many of us, over 100-miles to the North--in Central Florida. Just the tactic used at Klamath Falls, where one of the leaders was forced over this weekend to travel over 400 miles (Klamath Falls to Eugene) for a court appearance set by the Feds.

Unbelievable. NOT. It's a believable as any of the rest of their actions/decisions.

There are people who just can't beleive that the corruptions is endemic. They argue the details of Alamo-Girl's library of documentation regarding the Clinton era, and bring up the tin-foil hat chrarge to redicule anyone wondering, from the Federal Reserve to the Teapot Dome Scandal, from the assasination of JFK, to the Waco incident.

But sadly, the problem is so pervasive, those wild examples are just the ones that received the most attention. And our perspective is lost in the controversey.

The real corruption is so blatant, it's right out in the open. They say if you want to hide someting, put it in plain sight. And they have. It's the creative and selective way they enforce the laws, the ones they reserve for themselves, and the ones they reserve for the rest of us. The ones they ignore, and the ones they pretend to adhere to. It's the way the court system works, and the incorporated government monopolies that use their jurisdiction like true tyrants. And it's the use of enforced taxation to defend themselves against us, so we have to fight them in court using our OWN money, and then involuntarily finance their assault against us. Now THAT is corruption. Yet nearly everyone takes these realities for granted. They believe we're mad because we see naked flesh. But when we argue that the king wears no clothes, we honestly mean it.

None. The way they treat us, demonstrated right now at Klamath, under constant pretense that we ought to be pleased they aren't carving off a pound of flesh instead, is deplorable. IMHO, once you've been through their ringer, you have great difficulty accepting the charade thereafter. It looks more like they're running things as a true totalitarian criminal enterprise, a protection racket, so masterfully done, few are willing to even mention it out in the open for fear of being the next victim of "the law".
