WASHINGTON — A day after Democrats captured the House majority, Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told his staff Wednesday morning he will not stay on as Republican leader in the new Congress, according to four sources on the phone call.

Weak kneed. We don’t want Jordan either.
Is Scalise available?
Good. He was a wimp fighting against committed marxists who lie, cheat and deceive.
Do we ever see dims give up like this?
His work is done.
He did the right thing, very rare in DC. Perhaps Thune should follow suit.
Rush used to say the GOP election losers act like courtly gentlemen who are gracious in defeat and may sort of like not having the weight of responsibility for leading. Easier to be outside and griping.
The Dems, on the other hand, act as if they are still in power. They boldly speak out and in the next election they often win again. Ever notice Pelosi or Schumer meekly retreating to the corner?
“Welp, my work here is done!”
Until we can get enough conservatives in there to make the squish NE contingent a nonfactor it doesn’t matter who is speaker.
He should do an endorsement for Warby Parker.
You should just resign and go home Mike, for all you’ve been worth.
Sounds right.. he led that way already his last term... What a loser.
His job of obstruction is done, as is Thune’s. They can now relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
No of course not. We also very seldom see Democrats publicly attacking other Democrats in public.
There is no equivalent Karl Rove in the Democrat party.
Good for them; bad for us.
Four NBC news “reporters” to write that sentence ..
