Trump blamed Fox News for Republican losses
The Guardian ^ | November 3, 2026 6:10 pm CET | Jeremy Barr

Trump hit the network in multiple Truth Social posts, attacking Fox’s polls as “always the worst”; mocking some recent softness in the network’s year-over-year ratings trends and accusing Fox of being “AGAINST” him. Just before midnight, Trump directly placed blame on Fox News for the Republican party’s failure to hold on to the US House and Senate, writing that “FoxNews bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Dumocrat opposition, and worse.”

Trump then called into Fox’s election coverage around midnight and directly criticized the network’s polls as “terrible,” telling the network’s employees: “You ought to get yourself a good pollster, because your pollsters are the worst.” Fox News anchor Bret Baier pushed back gently, pointing out that “tonight, actually, the results are pretty close to what the Fox polls showed.”

While primetime host Laura Ingraham acknowledged that the election was a “referendum on Trump”, she said that “overwhelmingly his policies have been phenomenal for the country. Overwhelmingly, the stuff he’s promised, he’s done, and it’s worked out fabulously.”

Despite his earlier comments, Hannity said that Trump’s policies “are rock solid”, that Iran “had to be done” and that his intervention will eventually be proven right.

One person who shared in the belief that the president was not responsible for the losses was the president himself. “I don’t view it as a hit on me,” Trump told the Fox News panel, adding that “historically, I think I’ll be judged for having done the right thing,” and largely placing the blame on the Republican candidates who were defeated. He repeated his contention that the outcome would have been different if he had been on the ballot.

Trump has only himself to blame for listening to Bibi and bombing Iran.

You mean Fox didn’t find the riff-raff that tore up the Reflecting Pool paint job?

Well Trump got the regime change he was looking for - unfortunately it happened in America instead of Iran.

Yes, it is possible that some of the polls were off by a hair.

Well, we were, here in the hinterland, telling these wizards of smart that inflation, which devalues the dollar, and gas prices were killing us. But, because “the rich men north of Richmond” weren’t listening and are so full of themselves have only themselves to blame.

Trump has gone full retard. People in his cabinet better start packing their bags. The recriminations, scapegoating, and cognitive distortion are going to be epic.

He's kind of right. Fox News did have el-Sayed on way more often than Rogers but the hosts tried to paint him into a corner. He just walked all over the paint. He never came close to answering questions about his ties to the muslim brotherhood or Hasan piker or anything else.

P.T. Barnum said there's no such thing as bad publicity. Fox News gave el-Sayed and other demonicRATS plenty of publicity.

I don't know if Rogers or other Republicans asked to be on Fox but even if they did, they would just end up talking about el-Sayed.

And the poll questions were ridiculous. Plus Fix never revealed the breakdown of poll respondents.

There were so many positive things that Trump did that Republicans could've run on but it seemed like they were content with letting Trump carry their water.

“ It’s everybody’s else’s fault... except his own.”

It’s always Trump’s fault

Everyone is going to bear down on this. And even insist that Trump blame himself

It was a congressional race. It is the GOP

The media feeds brainwashing anti Trump nonsense

Most of the people on free republic are slamming Trump as usual. None have a moment to think about what Trump does, what humid job is and what exactly our having military in the waters off Iran has to do with the congressional elections

They don’t think of informing themselves on how oil pricing is directly related or not in this case to Iran

They don’t think of Trump having stopped many wars. How he has tried everything so far including stopping the funding to Ukraine and people are still hung honing that war because it’s a democrat war

People love Democrat
Wars because the media tells them to

The gop lost this election. They are dumb, lazy, they stop everything Trump tries to do

They did not run campaigns they have almost no connection with Trump or even the constitution. Then they are so quiet and nice instead of standing up and taking the blame themselves

They are not men

Fox news isn’t the issue. Their constant support of Trump has actually been tedious.

The problem was Trump. And NOT his policies, but his ability to communicate a message. “Trust me bro,” doesn’t work when the price of gas and other stuff is going up as he speaks. His handling of the Russia situation seems pretty weak as well. Melania has had more success there.

Most ego maniacs usually have one person in their lives they will listen to. I honestly don’t think Trump has that. He needs to understand his methods are not working any more.

He is the lamest duck we’ve seen since 2015. He will be on political defense for the next two years.

Nope…Fox news isn’t his problem. When you lose, you have to accept it is your own fault, assess what needs to change, and move on.

..”The phrase “It’s the economy, stupid” was coined by campaign strategist James Carville in 1992 during Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign.....”

...most of the folks with whom we spoke about this GOP bloodbath agreed with the above quote...decided to splurge the other day...get a nice steak....$20 frikkin’ for a steak!!??
The Iran think is a sideshow for a lot of folks....it is the state of the economy...!

Well, they sure didn’t help. I haven’t watched them since they sided with the msm and boycotted his speech. Their opinion shows are pro Trump, but their hard news segments are not so much. Brett Baier is execrable. And Shannon Bream was given the big Sunday show if, as far as I can see, she plays along with whatever the producers tell her to do. I guess you really do have to abandon your faith to get along, right Shannon?

Trump is now a lame duck president. He still holds the power of the veto, executive branch, and ICE. He needs to invoke the antisolicist law and arrest members of congress before rhe next session starts in January.
