The Department of Justice has launched an investigation after The Maine Wire obtained video from inside Lewiston City Hall showing NGO workers operating as interpreters coaching Somali migrants on how to vote, or filling out ballots for them.
US Attorney for Maine Andrew Benson told the outlet, “We review all evidence concerning complaints of voter intimidation and election interference, including the video from Lewiston’s early voting at City Hall. We will not tolerate threats to the integrity of our elections, and we look forward to working with the Attorney General’s Office and the Secretary of State’s office to defend our democracy.”
The CCTV footage obtained by the outlet covers early in-person voting in the city, which began on October 13. Voters in the state are allowed under Maine law to request a translator, but there are rules in place regarding their conduct.
Translators can only give assistance if specifically requested, but cannot offer it, and they are not allowed to influence a voter’s choices. They are not allowed to mark up a ballot, and cannot approach a voter already inside a booth.

The “ election “ officials should be arrested, and prosecuted.
Sounds like a stunt the Dems used to pull on the town I grew up in. Bright and early on Election Day the Dems would hire medical transport vans to pick up residents at the local nursing homes to bring them to the polling places with the promise of a “free” lunch. Enroute they were each handed a list of the Dem candidates (nod nod wink wink)
They know nothing’s going to happen. No official got arrested for the 2020 steal. Why would they now?

To apply to become a naturalized citizen you must be able to read, write, and speak basic English. I doubt these Somalis were citizens and they and their translators should be prosecuted for election fraud.

The biggest cause of long voting lines in MD is the thousands of illegal scum in lines requiring translators to cast their illegal votes...
The solution is simple: Have a GOP translator on scene to provide the dialogue.
