Italy Budget Bill Proposes 26% Exit Tax on Residents Leaving With €800,000 or More
IMI ^ | 31 Oct 26 | Ahmad Abbas

The unannounced measure would tax unsold gains from 2027, and anyone who wants to defer must pay half the bill up front.

Wealthy residents who leave Italy from 2027 could owe a 26% tax on gains they have not yet cashed in, under the government’s draft budget.

Article 17 of the bill, which the government sent to the Chamber of Deputies on October 30, would apply the tax to individuals who move their tax residence abroad with assets and rights worth at least €800,000 (approximately US$894,000).

The measure would cover transfers of tax residence that take effect from January 1, 2027, and only people who were tax resident in Italy for at least six of the ten tax periods before they leave.

Italian law already taxes companies and individual entrepreneurs who move abroad under Article 166 of the Consolidated Income Tax Act (TUIR), and Article 17 would extend the principle to private investors, who until now could leave without paying tax on unsold gains.

Il Fatto Quotidiano listed the exit tax among the budget’s unannounced measures when the 157-article text emerged on October 30, two days after the Council of Ministers approved the €26 billion package....

...they are bankrupt...

Which is why they need a war with Russia to cling to power.

One of the earmarks of a place becoming a hellhole... putting up a wall to keep residents from escaping. In this case a financial wall. Didn't California try this trick too? ALERT; HELLHOLE COMING

Exactly, many countries in history cancel their debt during/ right after war or cancel their currencies and issue out new currencies, a misleading crime, called “ debt reformation”. I suspect the EU is planning this with their Ukie war.

AI:

Countries that cancelled their debt after wars include the United States, the UK, and France, which collectively cancelled 50% of Germany’s debt in 1953. Other countries that participated in debt cancellation included Greece, Spain, and various nations in Africa and Asia.

Countries That Cancelled Debt After War
Several countries have participated in debt cancellation following wars, particularly in the context of World War I and World War II. Below is a summary of key countries involved in these debt cancellations.
Major Participants in Debt Cancellation
Country War Context Debt Cancellation Details
United States World War II Cancelled 50% of Germany’s debt in 1953
United Kingdom World War II Cancelled 50% of Germany’s debt in 1953
France World War II Cancelled 50% of Germany’s debt in 1953
Greece World War II Participated in the 1953 debt cancellation
Spain World War II Participated in the 1953 debt cancellation
Various African and Asian nations World War II Participated in the 1953 debt cancellation

These kinds of things, which are happening everywhere, kinda make me not want to earn as much money.

Why earn more its such a waste of time they’re just going to steal it anyways. When they steal that money, that is precious time I cannot get back, I cannot replace that time.

Plenty of things I can do which are useful, productive, that are already de-monetized at the outset.

The prime minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, is allegedly a conservative.

Imagine what the tax would be if a leftist ran the place!

You are criticizing Europe from your Russian bunker in St Petersburg.
That’s easy. But why not.

So let me now tell you the CATASTROPHIC situation concerning RUSSIA…
We need some equilibrium in the reporting, right?

Here are the key numbers:

One, the National Wealth Fund liquid reserves dropped from about 8.4 trillion rubles in early 2022 to 3.8 trillion by September 2026, with only around 1.6% of GDP left in liquid form.

Two, the deficit hit 5.19 trillion rubles in just nine months, already 37% above target.

Three, inflation forecast for 2026 is 7.1%, far above the 4% target.

Four, interest rates are stuck at 14%(!!), squeezing credit.

Five, VAT jumped from 20 to 22% and the VAT exemption threshold crashed from 60 million to 20 million rubles.

Six, corporate losses totaled 7.9 trillion rubles in January–August, up 35% year on year.

Seven, unpaid wages reached 2.54 billion rubles, up 30% year on year.

Eight, corporate bond defaults rose from 11 in 2024 to 24 in 2025, and 33 in 2026.

Nine, oil and gas revenues fell 17.2% year on year.

Ten, growth forecast is around (0.6% at the very best), but a recession session is most likely.

That’s the snapshot, numbers out loud.

And why this catastrophy? Well… : Putin’s illegal and very costly war against Christian Ukraine. Period.
And let’s not forget that Putin gets massive help / many troops from Communist North Korea and many more from Islamic Chechnya… with billions in subsidies from Communist China…

Sickening.

Best decision I made in my entire life was to resign from a good job in my mid-50’s. After that I had more free time to enjoy activities for which I had not much time before. Such as playing golf 5 days every week from Mon-Fri. That was not only extremely enjoyable for me, but shockingly all my health issues disappeared one by one with all that walking on the golf course. I am still alive in good health at age 86. If I had kept working, most likely would have died soon after eligible for Medicare at 65.

Get used to the fact the EU is crumbling, as is Ukraine. The facts are simple: Vlad will keep his ethnic Russian provinces, no NATO for Ukraine, however abolishing the Ukie Neo Nazis will only be done by Rada decree ( which I suspect will be accomplished only when Ukraine finally decides to negotiate).

Those three points have been Vlad’s stated objectives since day one. I do find it hilarious the EU did everything possible to destroy Russia, but instead they were destroyed themselves. A very, very good lesson for the war mongers.

That said, once Poland pulls out of the EU, more member states will also flee the corrupted socialist EU…just a matter of time. No tears.

Canada does this too.

Do not own assets in any country that does this. Rent, do not buy. Keep all your assets overseas in anonymous accounts or shell corporations.
