President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his administration is ending a Biden-era rule aimed at reducing methane emissions from oil and gas drilling.
The president announced the move during a campaign rally in Lubbock, Texas, in support of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton, saying it would save consumers and energy producers $45 billion and unlock 210 million barrels of oil.
"Tonight, I'm officially terminating Biden's expensive and unnecessary methane regulations to save consumers and energy producers $45 billion in costs, unlock vast quantities of Texas natural gas and produce 210 million barrels of oil," Trump said.
He added, "We've been working on this for a long time."
The rollback comes as Trump pushes to increase domestic energy production amid high fuel prices and the U.S. war with Iran.

Add this to the list of things Trump has done for us that gets buried. Worse, none of these things have been locked in by Congress. Thune is largely to blame on that one. Mitch’s handpicked replacement has done exactly as we feared he would.
This is the third time this month that Trump has visited Texas to campaign which means that the internal polls must be dreadful.
Its amazing how many costly regulations and restrictions the Biden administration saddled the US economy - especially energy production - with. I wholeheartedly support Trump getting rid of all of them.
If the Europeans and Canadians want to sacrifice their economies to Gaia, fine. But don’t ask us to.

I paid $3.59 or so a gallon yesterday. Huge regional differences based on local and state taxes and other issues I guess.
