Mallory McMorrow [el-Sayed's rival] says fake poll helped sink her Senate campaign

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Mallory McMorrow, the Democratic state senator who dropped out of the Michigan U.S. Senate race ahead of the August primary, says a fake poll helped sink her campaign after it admitted it fabricated its data.

Wedgewood Polls, a self-described polling firm with an X account created in June 2026, released the survey on June 29. It showed progressive Abdul El-Sayed at 46%, moderate Haley Stevens and McMorrow at 9%. It also had McMorrow trailing Republican Mike Rogers, who was unopposed for the nomination.

In a statement Tuesday, Wedgewood said it fabricated the results as a “social media experiment” to prove polling is “broken,” adding that it was easy to get media outlets to bite. Wedgewood released the statement after FiftyPlusOne, a polling aggregation and forecasting outlet, contacted the firm about an investigation into whether its polls were real.

“Wedgewood Polling was never intended to sway an election or permanently mislead the public; it was designed as a wake-up call,” the statement reads. “If a fictional entity run by a small group of industry veterans can be integrated into major polling averages and cited by major news organizations, the standards for how polling is vetted, aggregated and reported must change.”

Wedgewood said its Nebraska survey was legitimate and crowdfunded as a baseline for comparison. It also blamed the outlets for not vetting the poll seriously. FiftyPlusOne...

She was really close. The Muslim candidate was supposedly ahead by 10, 15 and one said 20% leads. Then won by 1% over Stevens (48.5% to 47.5% with Mallory McMorrow far down with 4%.

Lucky the El-Sayed opponents didn’t run against Hillary. She would have arranged some unusual “accidents” like stabbing themselves in the back 8 times and jumping off a high bridge.

Wedgewood got what it wanted. Polls are nothing but attempts to steer the populace into a desired result.

Have Muslims taken over the polling? We're doomed. I call for the purple fingers.

Gosh, it's almost as if the leftists don't play by the rules. But it's not as if they just swapped candidates during the middle of the 2024 POTUS campaign. /rimshot

You are 100% right!

Polls are a tool of intellectual infantilization, encouraging voters to abandon critical thinking in favor of following the prevailing consensus.

Polling should be banned by law.

Yeah, the problem with breaking the rules is that someone nastier will come along and break more rules than you did.

These dimwitted leftists all seem to think “I’ll win by any means necessary, and no one else will think to try it.”

The truth is that Wedgewood got caught by FiftyPlusOne, and initially replied “Eff you” on social media BEFORE they issued their fake “social media experiment” statement.

Read all about it in this excellent piece by Jeff Childers.

LOL...

* Wedgewood fabricated the results as a “social media experiment” to prove polling is “broken”

* Wedgewood Polling was never intended to sway an election or permanently mislead the public; it was designed as a wake-up call

* The standards for how polling is vetted, aggregated and reported must change

Just too funny. Wedgewood concocted a fake poll, claimed it was just done to be a “wake-up call,” got the MSM to run with it, and they sank McMorrow. Naturally, in the end, it wasn’t the fault of the crooks who pulled it off! Nope, it was the fault of the gullible MSM who was too stupid to “vet” the fake poll.

And McMorrow just folded up like a house of cards. So the dems get a radical jew-hating islamist lying fake “doctor” to be their candidate. In a sane world, he should get 10% of the vote.

As far as pools, in America, they are self fulfilling.
The nature of Americans is to vote with the winner.
So manipulating the pools can definitely help the candidate.
This is not the case in some other countries.
E.g. in England, they are often self defeating.
Votes who like the leader will often be happy and stay home, while the voters who favor the candidate behind in pools will get motivated and go to the pools.

This election will be decided by turnout.
Even if you Republican candidate is not too much in your liking, or you do not believe he can win, we need to win big to save America.

Please, VOTE!!!

I always vote, even when I know that my candidate doesn’t have a prayer of winning, which has been fairly often considering where I have lived. I have participated, made a choice, and reserved myself the right to complain. In spite of what a lot of people claim, getting to the polling place on election day has never been that hard for me.

Yes, at least, send them a message!
In lot of the deep blue areas, the turnout is so low, it takes just few votes to win. I always wondered, why they cannot find just few thousands of Republican voters there.
My theory is, that our people just do not bother to show!
