“Marine Le Pen has called for a 'renaissance for France' in her presidential campaign speech, the day after violent protest broke out once more across the country. Earlier today, the police announced 1,314 people had been arrested in weekend protests across France, with 53 officers hurt in the clashes. The National Rally leader has been using the clashes to fuel her campaign to be France's next president in April, accusing current authorities of being soft on violent protesters and lacking authority. Current polling shows the hard-Right politician is in the running to push out Emmanuel Macron's centrist government. Addressing 10,000 members of her party in Orleans this afternoon, Ms Le Pen promised 'true change' and that her party would 'restore the rule of law'.'Certainly the period we are living worries us. Everybody in this room knows. Today the words which come to mind are ruin, decline, riots and even chaos, disappearance,' she said. 'I am not proposing a return to the France of the past, but to build the France of tomorrow.' “

Good luck, Marine.
France is lost!
And, she says that these ‘students’ shouldn’t leave France if she’s elected ... that ‘they are French!’.
(face palm)
Is that yesterdays score for the “unions only”(per macaroon) peaceful protests?
Hitler was a bad guy. No one disagrees with that. He did a lot of damage.
Invading countries is bad.
Killing the Jews was bad.
His authoritarian police state was bad.
But beyond all that, some of the damage that Hitler did is very long-lasting in that it taught the world that there are some thing “you never do”. And now we may be at a point where we need some of that stuff to happen.
What if France became extremely nationalistic? If you aren’t truly French, then you aren’t welcome in France. OH NO! YOU CAN’T DO THAT! That sounds like Hitler!
What if France identified a religious minority and said, “Those people are not fit for civilization. They need to leave France, and if they do not leave, some bad things may happen to them. OH NO! YOU CAN’T DO THAT! That sounds like Hitler!
What if France decided to emphasize French culture? The art? The literature? The music? The architecture? The French culture is the best culture and all other cultures are degenerate and should be repressed within the borders of France. OH NO! YOU CAN’T DO THAT! That sounds like Hitler!
France does not need to repeat the actual atrocities committed by Hitler, but some of the rational solutions which France (and many other nations) truly require, are kept off the table “because Hitler”.
As if she’s going to end the massive social welfare programs and evict the invading muzzie horde.
Two things the French have in abundance is butter and blather.
Viva la revolución!
I meant “Vive la révolution!”
Hitler loved him some Muslims.
That’s the truth.
Excellent analysis.
To which I’d add: Hitler talked about a “master race”. In response, the West adopted the exact opposite belief: all cultures are exactly equal.
One is as wrong as the other.
“Those people are not fit for civilization.”
Or more kindly, they’re not fit for the French culture.
“Macron’s centrist government”
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Hitler didn’t import people who hated Germany, Germans, and wanted to destroy Germany.
She is a shamefull leftist , woke , “national socialist”
Phil Godlewski is in Paris right now and he says he’s been all over the city and there are no riots or fires or destruction anywhere. I saw a podcaster yesterday on YouTube riding around Paris on a bike and there was nothing going on.
I’m starting to wonder how bad these protests really are.
The Phil Godlewski who said Hillary had been executed?
