Election officials say they worry the administration could use its own unsubstantiated claims to contest the vote in November.
President Trump has warned that the country’s election systems are vulnerable to foreign meddling. Federal agents are scouring state rolls and federal databases to try to find noncitizen voters. And the homeland security chief has asked the Justice Department to examine whether a commonly used voting machine can be trusted.
Just weeks away from the midterm elections, Mr. Trump’s longstanding attacks on the integrity of voting systems are crystallizing into what many election officials and Democrats fear is an attempt to lay the groundwork to challenge the results in November.
So far, the president has been stymied in his efforts to directly assert federal control over elections, which under the Constitution are administered by the states. Last month, the Supreme Court blocked Mr. Trump’s effort to have the U.S. Postal Service screen mail ballots.
Instead, Mr. Trump and his allies across the government have intensified another tactic: systematically laying out unsubstantiated and false claims in an effort to sow doubts about the safety of the country’s decentralized election system.
The result, election officials fear, could be an effort by administration officials to try to contest results that do not favor Republicans by citing their own findings that the vote is tainted.
Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he had grown increasingly worried that Mr. Trump may claim foreign interference in the election as a reason to seize voting machines, noting that the president made dubious claims about the country’s election defenses in a...

What they're really worried about is being arrested for their crimes.
What they’re really worried about is being arrested for their crimes.
Exactly.
You can tell they’ve all received their talking points memo .... SAME BS LINES.
The NY Slimes is setting the narrative in place for when they lose.
These are the chumps who wanted a Muslim to rule over them.
The NYT won’t challenge. The Dems won’t challenge they always accept results
It’s all Trump
It’s always Trump

I don’t care how many nanny pamby republicans get in my face with ‘Rubio will do such a good job!!” “Vance will be great. It won’t be long now. That rude Epstein loving Trump will be gone soon”, no one will ever put up with the scapegoating Trump is in

???????.............🤔
The New York Times just had to pull 15 midterm polls after the “pollster” behind them ADMITTED almost all of it was FAKE.
2000- Bush was selected not elected....
2004- Diebold machines flipped votes from Kerry to Bush
2016- Trump colluded with the Russians...
BTW “Death of Stalin” is a must-see. Steve buscemi as well as Michael Palin and at their best
Georgy Zhukov The General was quite a character. Reports are that Ike and he shared a love of fishing and were able to communicate and sort of roll their eyes at the dumb dictators. Of course, he was a bad Russian general.
It would be foolish for these traitor scum bastards to try a 2020 election steel again. But they are. Get resdy.
“ ???????.............🤔”
I mean, if the republicans win, the Dems are going to have us back in hanging Chad world, ‘Russia, Russia, Russia’ accusations, so fast it will curl your hair. And through to winter. The NYT will be behind them, cheering. Statements like ‘democrats never challenge elections. It’s just that this one. It’s so unacceptable”

Congress can refuse to seat election winners
Trump could pressure Republican leaders in Congress to use procedural maneuvers to delay or challenge the seating of Democratic candidates in close races, attempting to keep a Republican majority while legal disputes play out in court, according to election law experts.
The clerk is elected by the House as its administrative manager and responsible for recognizing new members elected by the states, but the speaker can dismiss the clerk at any time and appoint an acting replacement.
Still, many election law scholars say the clerk has a statutory duty to recognize candidates certified by states and that courts would likely intervene if that duty were ignored.
The greater concern, they say, is that unresolved election disputes or delayed certifications could leave seats unfilled when the new Congress convenes on January 3. In a narrowly divided House, even a small number of unfilled seats could influence the election of the speaker and temporarily affect control of the chamber while legal challenges are resolved.
The most likely result, one legal analysis concluded, would not be a successful overturning of election results but significant confusion and political turmoil.
Trump’s Attacks on Voting Raise Fears He Will Try to Challenge Midterm Results
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (14A), that section a penalty for states where voting integrity has been compromised, gives POTUS the oversight power to challenge the results of state-administered elections imo.
In fact, note the zero tolerance "hair triggers" in that section that the Supremes, Pence and the J6 Congress wrongly ignored (imo) when lawmakers voted to accept Biden's electoral votes in 2020 despite allegations of vote-counting problems.

But when the right to vote at any election [all emphases added] for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State. Section 5 of 14A: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
You don’t have Trump hating republicans in your life? Lucky you.
Why are you here if you hate him so much?
That part is not quite correct.
The NYT partners with Siena College for their polling, not Wedgewood.
However, they did include Wedgewood in their aggregate poll averages, and that is what they were forced to pull.
Siena College polls have a historic bias of D+1.22%.

Concern trolling is back on the menu at the echo chamber, bring your pearls
I did speak in metaphor so perhaps my message got lost
My point is I have been putting up with a lot of, in your face -Trump is bad, pre election. It is wearing. Then they pile on either l’luckily vance an Rubio can save us’ and they mean- from Trump
Trump is the only one who can do all of what he’s doing and bear the slings and arrows. No one else could, did, will or can do it. And I see people piling on incessantly. He doesn’t care. But I find the Trump haters so illogical and tiresome. Shallow. Petty. They can’t appreciate the big picture, the long term
They can’t see the media just pummeling propaganda and lies.
The times and the dems are pre blaming Trump when it is the times and the dems who invariably argue election results.
