COLUMBUS, Ohio — Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s team confirmed late Tuesday that it produced a controversial advertisement featuring the estranged mother of Amy Acton, and the campaign said it will spend $4 million to promote it despite facing bipartisan rebuke for dredging up the painful childhood of his Democratic opponent in Ohio’s governor’s race.
Ramaswamy’s campaign initially issued a statement that did not address whether he was responsible for the ad or knew who produced it. In the earlier statement, Luck said Acton “has some serious problems with the truth that the public needs to be aware of.”
Casey Putsch, a car designer and YouTube provocateur who competed against Ramaswamy for the Republican nomination for governor, said on social media that he would be voting for Acton in the wake of the ad’s release. He called the video “pretty d*mn low.”
Later Tuesday, the Acton campaign released a video featuring Stearns [Acton's brother] who recalls his older sister taking “the worst” of the abuse they faced as children in order to protect him and disparages Ramaswamy and his allies for exploiting the situation.

I wish there was a way where both Acton and Ramaswamy could lose this race.
This ad was a bad idea. It would have been better to put out an ad saying essentially here is how Acton has lied about me and my family, here is how I am better on the issues, etc. Sometimes defense is better than offense, especially if you are ahead in the polls.
While Acton would obviously be a horrible governor on policy, in a past post on X ( https://x.com/VivekGRamaswamy/status/1872312139945234507 ) Ramaswamy undercut Americana, made a caricature of it (which os worse than bad policy from Ohioan Dem policies) and “criticized American culture for allegedly venerating mediocrity over excellence since the 1990s, arguing it explains why tech companies hire foreign and first-generation engineers over native-born Americans.” - Google AI
Multiple scientific studies though show that most college seniors in American Universities, on average (with the studies being mostly representative of U.S. society in the percentages of whites, blacks, hispanics, etc) on STEM/CS/IS/etc, fields were better than their counterparts in India and China.
Point is, America won WWI, II, sent men to the moon, etc, and still wins in the college classrooms today, still embraces Americana (college jocks, proms, etc) and didn’t and doesn’t need H1B to do it. Some though have sought to create a false narrative about America. If they, whomever they are, don’t like Americana they can self-deport if they wish.
And no, I don’t have TDS. I don’t have Trump Derangement Syndrome or Trump Devotion Syndrome either. And yes, I think Trump has done some good in his second term.
