The mayor of the previously sleepy French city of Limoges has accused Emmanuel Macron’s government of having failed to properly equip police, claiming that officers ran out of ammunition as rioters stormed City Hall and set the historic building ablaze.
Limoges Mayor Guillaume Guérin of the centre-right Républicains party told broadcaster BFMTV that around 700 “ultra-left” Black Bloc rioters joined the protest on Saturday of around 5,000 intent to “destroy, smash, and kill people.”
The LR mayor detailed a level of premeditation and planning among the alleged leftist arsonists, saying that they came equipped with a battering ram weighing over 200 kilograms (440lbs), which was used to smash open the doors of City Hall. Meanwhile, the fire which engulfed the building and sensationally burned down the tower was set in the basement and spread through the cellar vents, which Mayor Guérin claimed had been “identified beforehand” as a force multiplier for the planned arson attack.
“The level of logistics, organisation, and premeditation behind yesterday’s attack on the City Hall is something I find absolutely intolerable,” he said, adding that he was “outraged by such levels of violence and hatred directed toward everything that embodies authority.”

If they used all their ammo, I’m sure the bodies in the streets are stacked up like cordwood. Right?
“absolutely intolerable”
So, how many rounds did les gendarmes have?
I mean, even a single magazine would leave multiple wounded in a crowd. Something here doesn’t make sense.
Heck, there are FReepers with enough ammo to supply a squad to take a crowd that size.
Macron, and his tranny mommie-wife, may be headed to a visit with a guillotine sooner than folks realize. They’ve certainly got it coming to em...
WUT? No way huh? 😉
How, in the name of God, do you run out of ammo, before you run out of targets?
Maybe they had non-lethal rubber bullets. Or Nerf bullets? They are French after all, wouldn't want to hurt anyone with their bullets...
Non-lethal.
Non-effective.
“The level of logistics, organisation, and premeditation behind yesterday’s attack on the City Hall is something I find absolutely intolerable. I am outraged by such levels of violence and hatred directed toward everything that embodies authority.”"Intolerable"...yet they tolerate it decade after decade after decade.
And he's "outraged." Maybe he needs to chill with the Pres at a Celine concert.
"violence and hatred directed toward everything that embodies authority" -- they still don't get it...they are anarchists bent on destroying Western Civilization.
Africans like African. That’s why African is a such a s hole.
They "ran out of ammunition" because they were never issued any ammunition.
They had night sticks and maybe some tear gas and pepper sprays. Completely inadequate to stop determined attackers.
And it was the politicians who set those rules of engagement. They are afraid of the rioters and tried to appease them by non-escalation.
Big mistake. One of many more to come.
All the ammo and guns are at the bottom of local fishing lakes.
The so-called authorities are completely helpless. They are unable to comprehend their own failures.
First they run out of bullets. Next they'll run out of white flags to wave.
France is lost.
OBTW, where are France's nuclear weapons? Asking for a friend...
> I haven’t seen or read any reports of rioters, uh peaceful students, being shot. <
Maybe the mayor was talking about running out of tear gas rounds and rubber bullets. You know, the kind of things that would have little effect on serious rioters anyway.
Yep. They ran out of beanbags.
