A growing chorus of House Republicans is warning President Trump that they're ready to block additional Pentagon funding unless the administration gets tougher on Russia.
Behind Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the administration is pushing Republicans on Capitol Hill to approve at least $350 billion in new military spending as part of a partisan reconciliation package in the postelection lame-duck session.
But several of Ukraine's GOP allies are furious with Trump's latest foreign policy moves, chief among them a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to import Russian diesel to America in an effort to curb rising fuel costs.

That agreement, combined with reports that the U.S. has restricted Ukraine's use of strategic satellite systems, has set the stage for a pitched internal fight in the lame-duck session, pitting Kyiv's staunchest Republican allies — who want the Russian sanctions restored and the satellite limits removed — against the administration as it races to secure the boost in Pentagon funds.
Fueling that clash is legislation, sponsored by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and signed by Trump just last month, which was designed to tighten sanctions on Russia and put additional pressure on Moscow to reach a peace deal with Ukraine. Trump's move to waive those sanctions instead has boosted Putin's ability to fund the war, frustrating the bill's supporters in both parties.
Threats have followed.

GOP Senators are not required to blindly follow a GOP President in every policy choice he makes.
Republicans are famous for eating their own. Democrats are reprehensible, but at least they stick together, though it’s refreshing to see some of them coming out again DSA.
RINOS, Davos—atlanticists, and globalists have ruled the roost in DC for 75 years
They won’t be got rid of so easily
Uke first RINOS would rather fund ukies than the US military.
Neither is the President, who is ultimately responsible for foreign policy. Democrats and RINOs are not.
Yahoo news= Yahoo BS.
I see one GOP name and he is dead.
More Fractured Fairy Tales from Yahoo news.
The source is actually The (s)Hill.
The President is constitutionally granted certain powers relating to foreign policy, but the funding is controlled by Congress. It is not an accident that the Constitution didn't grant the President carte blanche in foreign policy.
It's also not a bad thing. Because otherwise, Clinton could have bound us to the Kyoto Climate protocols, and Obama could have bound us legally to the Paris Climate Accords. In both cases, the Senate rejected their preferences despite the President supposedly being in charge of foreign affairs.
The GOP Senate has been generally very supporting of President Trump's foreign policy, especially Iran, despite having some misgivings. But apparently, this is an issue where it is standing its ground.
What one would call a distinction without a difference.
Oh no, congress won’t spend money we don’t have to fund the military industrial complex.
We owe Europe NOTHING. Lazy grifting moochers. Let them rot.
“Growing chorus”...i.e. 3
I want to see these Corrupt bastards take that vote!
Nothing, except to love our brothers as ourselves. Given your tagline, I think that you might have heard of that commandment.
The same Republicans that can’t/won’t pass the Save America Act?
Musk isn’t going to want Putin to send missiles at his undefended Space X satellites.
“Withholding new funding for the Pentagon is a way to put pressure on Trump, just like he is putting pressure on Ukraine.”
Trump cares about the election two weeks away more than weapons Congress won’t let him use.
