The Social Security cost-of-living adjustment will be 3.6% in 2027, the Social Security Administration said Wednesday.
The cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, provides an annual inflation adjustment to both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, benefits.
Social Security retirement benefits will increase by $75 per month on average, the agency said.
"Social Security will implement this cost-of-living adjustment for 76 million Americans, giving them greater financial stability," Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano said in a statement.

"How much will Medicare premiums go up?"
Article reads, "Standard monthly premiums for Medicare Part B are projected to be $209.50 in 2027, up from $202.90 in 2026, according to a report from Medicare trustees."

"medicare is extremely cheap, what exactly are you complaining about?"
Because the standard practice has always been, that when Social Security benefits, go up, so does the price of Medicare insurance coverage.
I did a search and got this response: "Medicare Part B premiums are projected to rise by about $6.60 per month in 2027—from $202.90 in 2026 to an estimated $209.50—while Social Security COLA is expected to increase around 3.5%, meaning much of the raise will be offset by the higher Medicare deduction."

Not even close if you have to pay IRMAA—which, of course, means you are really rich…./BIG sarcasm

Medicare covers basically 80-20, all who worked have been into paying for years. What’s the issue?

$75.00-$6.60 = ? that doesn’t seem bad.
A few years ago, I ended up with only $8

Not only that but the increase in Medicare payment is not linear. If you earn $112,001, your Medicare cost jumps almost hundred dollars/month.

For 2026 IRMAA earnings limit is $109,000.
If your income is $109,001, you will pay $82 more per month for Medicare part B premium = $984 more for the year.
