A 40-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting two women inside a Planet Fitness women’s locker room. Laquan Holland was arrested on Thursday morning after police responded to a report of an assault in progress at the gym in Porter square.
According to reports, Holland, who was a member at the gym, entered the women’s locker room where he sexually assaulted a woman and prevented her from leaving the area. Holland then attacked a second woman after she attempted to intervene to save the first victim.
Holland faces two counts of assault to rape, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, and one count each of kidnapping and witness intimidation. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Friday and was ordered held pending a hearing scheduled for later this month.
Holland was known to police, with court records showing that he had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on child under 14 in 2006
Planet Fitness has said that Holland’s membership has since been cancelled. The franchise group said it was working with police on the investigation. The club is located in a building owned by Lesley University, which clarified that no students or staff were involved.
The incident has brought renewed attention to the fitness franchise’s notably lenient policies with respect to locker room access.
According to its website, all members may use the locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, and any other facilities/programs “based on their self-reported gender identity,” a guideline that many have argued has contributed to other disturbing incidents in the women’s areas at multiple Planet Fitness locations across the United States.
In September 2023, a strikingly similar incident occurred at a Planet Fitness in Monroe, Georgia.

If he (er, she) says she’s a woman then she (er, he) cannot rape a “real” woman. Right? What’s the matter with these people? He is a woman. Just ask that SCOTUS justice about simple biology. Case closed.
It should not be overlooked that whatever happened at that party was an act of hedonistic decadence. Two men had sex with an intoxicated woman, and then five more men had their way with her. Sexual intimacy is emotionally complex. It is not surprising that afterwards the woman and even some of the men were distraught and felt violated. There are sound psychological and cultural reasons why in Judeo-Christian and most of the world’s religions such behavior is considered morally wrong. Historically when civilizations have openly embraced such hedonism and decadence, decline and passing soon follows.

Wondering what would happen if he were knowingly sent to a woman’s prison as a man. Would he get his just reward or would it be the same situation all over? I should imagine there are some pretty tough women with murderous tendencies at some of the women’s prisons.

That’s why I don’t go to Planet Fitness. The last time a woman complained, they cancelled the woman. I invested in making my own home gym instead.
