Donald Trump attempted to turn up the heat on fellow Republican Tom Cotton in the fight to change daylight saving time, even giving out what appeared to be the Arkansas senator's personal cell phone number.
The President spent much of Saturday speaking out in favor of The Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent.
The bill passed the House in July but faces roadblocks among Republicans, including Cotton, who is strongly opposed.
'For some reason, Tom is stopping the Bill and, in the Senate, it´s very easy to do, it only takes one!' Trump wrote on social media, noting that passing the bill would give professional golfers more time on the greens.
'So, everyone in Arkansas, a State I love, and won 3 times, the last by by 34 points, tell Tom to, GET IT DONE! It will be appreciated by all,' Trump said.
Trump included a phone number with an Arkansas area code. When The Daily Mail called the number, no one answered and the voicemail box was full.
The President made multiple Truth Social posts in favor of the bill, including one that included a letter from PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp supporting it.
One post read: 'I don’t know about anyone else, but a table full of very distinguished people just told me that they HATE, immediately after a mandatory time change, going home at night – and it’s DARK. It’s depressing!'...
It was a remarkable escalation on Trump's part of a longstanding fixation shared by both men who stand on opposite sides of the debate. Trump supporting making daylight saving time permanent, and Cotton vociferously opposed.
The squabble comes just weeks before the midterms, when Republicans would prefer the president to focus on talking about affordability issues and the party's achievements.

I would like to think Trump has better things to do with his time.
Ally. Cotton has been a backstabber and an obstructionist.
A.I., screw the “Super Intelligence” narrative crap, is hampered/expensive to shift by time changes. Not so “Super” after all.
Daylight or Standard?
The clocks need to fixed at standard time.
Trump is petty and immature and vindictive.
Donnie better hope he does not need Cotton vote if impeachment happens.
Change DST to DJT.
Vote for a demonicRAT then.
Vote for a demonicRAT, then.
It’s always going to be dark somewhere in the morning. Look at the people who live in Alaska. Cotton needs to grow up.
Come clean, Cotton, you boll weevil. How much unrelated spending do want?
Vote for a demonicRAT, then.
“House members overwhelmingly supported a measure that would establish year-round Daylight Saving Time nationwide, passing legislation over the summer by a 308 to 117 vote.”
But what do the little people know.

And leave it to the Daily Fail to post a lie here in the headline.
They will.
They will.
It would be better just to maintain Standard Time all year ‘round.
I know. They’re too chickensh*t to admit it. . That Macron chick has bigger balls than TDS positive FReeptards.
No permanent Daylight Savings Time. Return to year round Standard Time.
I took a look at your "In Forum" -- posts by ncalburt -- to see "Donnie" referring to President Trump rather consistently of late. "Donnie the Narcissist" and the like. Did you vote for him in the last presidential election, and turn sour on him thereafter, or have you held a dislike for him from before the last presidential election?
