It was a stormy week politically in Ireland.
It wasn’t over an attempted terrorist attack as we had here in Israel this week. It wasn’t over the rising cost of energy or immigration, like elsewhere in Europe.
It was a soccer match against Israel.
That was enough to dominate the country’s headlines.
How did Ireland become so focused on Israel, and so hostile to the Jewish state?
Alan Shatter, a leading Jewish figure in the country and former justice and defense minister, says a pro-Palestine ‘cult’ has taken over the country’s politics.
The country has always had a checkered past with its Jews, Shatter said. The Provisional IRA had deep ties with Palestinian terrorists, and their political movement Sinn Fein ‘contaminated’ Irish politics by putting the Palestinian cause front and center.
That obsessive focus has spread from politics across Irish society, Shatter lamented, and now trade unions, teachers, artists, and athletes have significant pro-Palestinian movements.
The angst over the soccer match against Israel is a new “level of complete and utter absurdity,” he said.
Now, he said, many Jews are asking whether they have a future in the country as they face daily abuse online and a toxic environment around Israel.

What do you expect from the country that adored Hitler during WWII?
Do the Jews in Ireland vote for and promote the same leftist policies they do everywhere else in the West?
If so, then too bad, they are getting what they voted for and what they deserve.

Yeah, that is certainly one issue. Ireland is in same Jew hating bucket as Ukraine — either supported or fought for Hitler. And, proud of it.
AS to today, Irish Jews are not Jews. Like Catholics who do not demand that the Vatican clean out its pedos. They walk and talk the speech, but are soulless inside.
Going back to DeValera’s condolence note to the German embassy upon Hitler’s death, the Irish have consistently found ways of supporting Jew-haters.
Drunken l Irish junkies can always be counted upon to disappoint.
This would be a good time for a patriot to blow up a primary school.
Catholics have always had a special hatred of Jews. It's just now coming openly to the surface.

Funny, but... it would seem that that same “cult” wants to take over America’s politics, as well. The pro-Muslim, anti-Jewish cult of evil. That it has succeeded in other nations should act as a ‘cautionary tale’ to Americans. Instead, it seems to be conveniently and deliberately ignored.
