Rochester Regional Health officials are responding to recent claims by the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Labor.
In a post on social media, Anthony D'Esposito asked the healthcare system how many of its incoming class of residents are H-1B and J-1 visa holders. This is regarding a claim that only two of the 82 in the incoming class studied in America.
The H-1B visa program allows employers to hire skilled foreign professionals, while the J-1 visa offers temporary, non-immigrant status for approved work and study exchange programs.
RRH says it's focused on building its workforce in a time when doctor and nursing shortages are challenging. It addressed the issue by releasing this statement:
"Rochester Regional Health is proud to recruit and train highly qualified physicians who meet the rigorous standards of our accredited graduate medical education programs. Our physicians bring exceptional training, skill, and dedication to their patients every day. At a time when physician and nursing shortages are challenging healthcare systems across the country, we remain focused on building a strong healthcare workforce to ensure our patients and communities have access to the care they need."
According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, international medical graduates — physicians who received their medical degrees from schools outside the U.S. — make up approximately 24.2% of active medical residents in the United States.

Expose H1B Fraud 09/26/2026 X post:
"BREAKING: Rochester General Hospital in New York hired 82 resident doctors.
80 are foreign workers on H-1B or J-1 visas. Only 2 are Americans.
98% of the residency slots went to visa workers- mostly from countries with documented USMLE cheating.
Americans got 2 jobs."
Let me guess - the legal/illegals work cheaper? More Advantage plans and HMO's want cheap easy to manipulate medical labor?
Sad what happened to the University of Rochester. Once a great school. American medical graduates usually avoid training at lower tier hospitals if they can avoid them.
I don’t see what the problem is. Not anymore.
When I go to the VA or an outside provider for my health and eyecare needs, I never get to see a doctor with an American sounding name anymore.
Most of those at the VA that I see, have names from India or from the middle-east.
I took a look at the names on a screen with doctors who had patients waiting to see them, and out of 13 doctors’ names on the screen, only TWO read like American names. That’s at the university hospital associated with the local VA in Tampa. They do good work, though.
I guess that if people expect for medical care that is not expensive, they’ll have to put up with a lot of imported doctors.
This is happening everywhere!!
Indian private universities......most notably Manav Bharti University......were found to have sold tens of thousands of fake degrees, which law enforcement authorities and reports suggest were sometimes used by individuals attempting to submit fraudulent credentials for overseas work programs, including U.S. H-1B visas.
The Manav Bharti University Scandal——Fake Degrees Sold: Investigations by Indian law enforcement revealed that Manav Bharti University (located in Himachal Pradesh, India) allegedly sold over 36,000 fake degree certificates over a span of years.
Investigators found that bogus academic credentials from the school were sold for as little as $1,400. Sweeping crackdowns on counterfeit academic networks in India led to the seizure of nearly 100,000 forged certificates across multiple unregulated or compromised institutions.
Local Forgery Markets——Hyderabad Hubs: Reports and statements from former U.S. consular officials highlighted local commercial districts—such as Ameerpet in Hyderabad—as hotspots where shadow consultancies allegedly offered forged educational certificates, fake employment verification letters, and tailored interview coaching to bypass screening.
Media segments and viral social media claims (such as reports citing a former consular officer) asserted that 80% to 90% of all Indian H-1B visa applications contained fraudulent credentials.
While localized degree scams and corrupt consulting rings are real and actively targeted by law enforcement, the majority of the H-1B program from India are built on fake university credentials.
It’s about making money for the hospital. It’s got nothing to do with patient care.
The hospital I worked in, Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ had as it’s ER staff almost entirely East Indian and Pakistani doctors.
What this article doesn’t explain is that hospitals hire these doctors at a cut rate and the Indies and Pakis get to come here and bring the whole fam damily with them, including an ancient ‘’grandmother’’ and the Sacred Cow.
“Sad what happened to the University of Rochester”
University of Rochester is UR Health, the biggest health care system in the Rochester region, and also the areas biggest employer.
Rochester Regional Health is the other major medical organization in the Rochester region. It is not U of R.
Thank you. Stand corrected.
Neighbors directed me to a Florida west coast hospital for knee surgery. (Town at Bayonet Point).
The lobby had a 4x8 picture displaying the hospital’s many MDs. About a quarter were wearing turbans...

FWIW, my ophthalmologist is a Sikh, speaks perfect English with no accent. I think I've been going to him for 4 years, he removed both cataracts last year.
He seemed stand offish for the first several months, but that's no longer the case. His personality came through in the operating room, as if he was in his element...lol.
This site queries for non-profit and research institutions that exempt from the 85,000 annual limit on H-1B visas granted, and have employed H-1Bs. Over 5.75 years back, once the names have been consolidated in Excel, there are about 7,800 employers and 130,000 H-1B employees. If you look at the institution names, numerous ones have INC or Corporation (and yet these are still use the privileges given to non-profits). While numerous hospitals are included, you will also see the names of small practices bearing the names of a doctor :

Yes, a small number of turbans (pictured) were typical Sikh.
BTW: Congratulations on the correct spelling of Ophthamologist...!
;)
so are we not all glad that “We” just regurgitated Trumps words referring to deportations: “Deporting Criminal Illegal Immigrants”. And then found a way to defend his H1-B programs?
This fkng Country has been given away by our own fkng people...
