The White House began mailing $500 refund checks on Wednesday to nearly 1 million Americans the Trump administration says were overcharged for their ObamaCare insurance.
The Treasury Department checks will go out to more than 950,000 Americans across 30 states who use healthcare.gov, the federal health insurance marketplace, the Hill reported.
"For years, the Biden administration overcharged you to fund the operation of HealthCare.gov. That money belongs to hard-working Americans, not the Government, and now I’m returning it to you!” President Trump wrote in a letter that will be sent with the checks.
Approximately 19.2 million people enrolled in Affordable Care Act coverage, and only a fraction of them are eligible for the checks, most of whom live in Florida and Texas.

So, I think Obamacare is an abomination and unconstitutional, but it’s law for now, and these people were overcharged $500. They shouldn’t get their money back... why?

There have been no penalties for not carrying insurance since Trump’s first term.

Call it what you will, I’m all in for doing whatever it takes to win. Because the alternative is much much worse.

But refunding the over charge is “buying votes”? Do you also consider income tax refunds as “buying votes”?

There has been no penalty for no insurance since it was passed to know what was in it.
I only had health insurance for 4 years out of the last 14.
Can’t afford it is checked on my taxes, and the penalty is gone.
