Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a slate of legislation Tuesday aimed at strengthening the state’s oversight of federal immigration enforcement in California.
Among the new laws are:
A ban on law enforcement agencies using electroshock gloves
A 25% tax on private detention facilities
Limiting immigration authorities’ use of flash-bang grenades during raids
Prohibiting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who have committed “serious misconduct” from becoming state workers or police officers
Expanded health, safety, and oversight requirements for civil detention facilities operating in California.
The ban on shock gloves will take effect next year and remain in place until 2030. It comes weeks after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement moved to equip its officers with the gloves, which deliver a painful shock when applied to a person’s bare skin.

These people disgust me. They want illegals here for cheap labor for their political donors and to make them future voters. It is all about them and their party, not their constituent’s needs. Illegals drain resources, consume tax dollars without contributing, skirt background and medical checks before coming in, and keep wages low, hurting the legal workers.
Blatantly unconstitutional. SCOTUS stipulated that the federal government has sole jurisdiction.

The federal government is not obligated to follow most of this crap, so it is just Kubuki theater.

I'm OK with that one. Every agency has hiring standards and “serious misconduct” is a reasonable standard to block employment. Now make sure its applied across the board to all the fraudsters you employ.

Not one of these will impact federal employees doing their jobs. Total waste of paper but looks good on tv to the Governor’s demons.
He knows that his nonsense cannot overrule federal law, but the commies take every opportunity to slow down the removal of their primary base of constituents, illegal aliens.
States do not exercise oversight of the federal government.
Newsom only sucks up to the losers that’s how he got elected.
