Hundreds of flights have been grounded across the US after a sudden equipment outage crippled operations at three major East Coast airports
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued urgent ground stops for Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Philadelphia International Airport and Teterboro Airport shortly before 11.30am ET on Monday.
Planes were prevented from leaving all three airports, while inbound flights were ordered to remain at their departure points.

About two months ago a similar issue hit a regional center in Minneapolis
Did they find out the cause of the problem, or should I say would they admit the source?

Someone living by an airport who doesn’t like the noise asked AI - “Can you help me reduce the number of flights over my house?”
I would theorize enemy probing of vulnerabilities (we are at war with Iran after all) ahead of DEI, but the latter is not off the table.
My suspicion would be the foreign software "programmers" can't write well and the Air Traffic Control system crashed or locked users out.

If these AI models are hacking each other, why not airport computers, electric grids, power plants, water purification plants and other utility systems that our lives depend upon?
If it isn't happening now, it will happen soon.

Bingo! They are easily filled with hatred, have international allies and access to mercenaries. Such action is certainly not "outside the box".
Throw in the fact we are one election away from folks who are adept at exploiting chaos.
They’re upgrading to smoke signals
According to Grok, it’s believable that the problem was caused by normal equipment failure. The airports use Verizon copper-wire-based circuits that are aging and past their rated life; the circuits are all slated for replacement with fiber. They’re old enough that it’s hard to find spare parts and knoledgeable service.
There was a communications/equipment failure at Philadelphia TRACON (Terminal Radar Approach Control), which handles communications for Newark and Teterboro also.
When they tried to switch to the fiber back-up that was in place, they found that the fiber had been cut by a construction backhoe.
This isn’t the first failure of this sort — which isn’t surprising if the whole communications infrastructure there needs to be replaced.

With the wide range hit it sounds like a repeat.
The problem originated in Philly. Because of course it did.
Construction crew hit a fiber optic line. Sometimes the least nefarious reason is the correct one.
