President Donald Trump told Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst that “very big things are going to be happening in the not-so-distant future” on Iran and that “my question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up?”
In a Sunday morning appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend Yingst reported he had just spoken with Trump and conveyed the substance of his conversation with the audience.
“He tells Fox News he’s in a ‘deciding mode’ and that ‘very big things are going to be happening in the not-so-distant future,'” Yingst said. “The president described the current choices on the table as ‘wiping Iran out, letting them rot economically or making a deal.’ He added, ‘My question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up? They better behave.'”
The comments resemble remarks Trump made to Axios’s Barak Ravid on Thursday when he said, “Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?
Trump is attending the United Nations General Assembly later this week — as is Iranian President Pasoud Pezeshkian. Yingst asked Trump if he would be open to a meeting with the Iranian leader, and he responded “probably.”
“But [he] described this weekend as no different from any other weekend, despite these alerts that went out to U.S. Citizens across the region,” Yingst said. “Remember, a lot of moving parts here. It’s not just the situation with Iran and the ongoing U.S. naval blockade, but also the attacks by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen that targeted Saudi Arabia yesterday with ballistic missiles. The president said the United States is in constant communication with the Houthis and that they’ve agreed not to fight the United States.”

BlastOff
This bluster is getting old and comical.
“ Did he declare victory again?”
_______
What, you can’t read?
> “my question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up?” <
The Constitution is very clear on such matters. Congress decides if there is to be a war, not the president. But nobody seems to care about that anymore. Certainly not Congress.
Disclaimer: I make no comment as to the wisdom of this war. Time will tell. And I do get that Trump is not the first president to go to war on his own.
“Why not? Trump has been kicking the living shit out of Iran.”
Because it makes him look out of touch to the voting public. Gas and diesel are expensive, there is still inflation, people are tired of this war. It’s not a big deal to me, I can’t change anything, but looking out of touch is how we get a DSA House and Senate.
Presidents can’t do THIS:
“to bring the conflict to a successful termination, all the resources of the country are hereby pledged by the Congress of the United States”
Much like him losing the second presidential election to what I believe is him making fun of The lady with cerebral palsy, this term I’m afraid he committed a few unforced errors such as, putting his name on the Kennedy center, starting this war with Iran without any intention to finish it meanwhile Mr. and Mrs. Smith are paying $4.50 to $5.50 for a gallon of gas, and the fact that he decided to build this ballroom while everybody else out here is making trying to make two nickels to scratch together l: the general voting population only votes on the easy things to understand. The general feeling out there now even amongst those that voted for Trump again, is that he’s just into this for his own glorification. Would I vote for the man again? Yeah, probably so.
He should stop talking so much….
Or, maybe…he should be telling our oil companies to ramp up production or he may have to nationalize the oil companies.
After all Socialism is quite in vogue.
We can sell oil to the rest of the world and all American tax payers can receive dividends.
As long as we are just talking I may as well blab stupid crap too.
My bet is he will resign in January.
He made fun of a woman with cerebral palsy? Really?
The comments resemble remarks Trump made to Axios’s Barak Ravid on Thursday when he said, “Do I want to go in and annihilate them or do I not?”. Bomb the hell out of them with spiral cut hams Trump.
Interesting. I would like to know more.
> the general voting population only votes on the easy things to understand <
Well said. The average voter has some idea of why Iran is a threat. But he’s MUCH more concerned about the price of gasoline and groceries.
Is the average voter therefore shortsighted? Maybe.
He may even commission a statue of himself atop a horse with a raised sword in one hand and “The Art of the Deal” in the other—all in gold, of course.
War cannot be won with half-hearted measures, guided, in part, by the price of oil.
Should have done it in April.
😎👍
