At least two people have been killed and six injured in a "massive" overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyev has said.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 450 drones heading for the capital had been shot down in what he called an "unprecedented attack". The city's main oil refinery was damaged and several homes were set ablaze.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Kyiv had hit a "key" Russian oil facility and a logistics site in the region, representing "billions of dollars that sustain the war machine".
The overnight attack is thought to be among the largest drone attacks on the Moscow region since the war began.

“They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done — I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”
The U.S. Initiative: The proposal for an energy and infrastructure truce followed discussions involving U.S. President Donald Trump and his envoys pushing for a mutual pause to protect energy grids, food supply routes, and logistics ahead of the winter.
Ukrainian forces fired more than 1,000 drones at Russia overnight, including hundreds that were launched toward Moscow, officials said Sunday as the Kremlin was wrapping up the third and last day of its parliamentary elections.
Ukrainian intelligence operators struck russian logistics facility, with the first hit causing a fire and a subsequent strike triggering a major detonation

Since Russia has virtually unlimited fuel resources (but aging infrastructure) and the Ukraine depends on imports and donations for its fuel, I’d say that this Winter is going to be a lot harder on the Ukrainian people.
In the meantime, Russians also claim to target Ukrainian energy & other infrastructure, but Ukrainians report strikes on civilian housing, warehouses, schools, port facilities, and a monastery, injuring dozens while killing three children in Kyiv and monk in the Russian attack on a Kherson monastery.
Both Senile Joe and Trump asked little St Z to not attack Russia’s oil refineries. So now we have the highest gas and diesel prices in history, and we are now guaranteed to see inflation rise like we have never seen before. The lag time between the diesel price increase and food price increase is typically a month or so.....
Let’s see how the Ukie war cheerleaders are going to like $8 plus gas and $12 plus diesel.

Well, lucky for Putin, Zelenski has no cards to play.
I think we need a little agreement with Russia. We agree they can nuke Ukraine and they agree we can Nuke Iran.
This will be Ukraine's sixth winter under Russian invasions and attacks on its infrastructure.
They know what to expect and will be ready for it.
It won't be easy, but they will survive, as they did previous winters.
Russian suffering has been orders of magnitude less than Ukraine's, so far, and Russians are famous for their tolerance of suffering, so I would not expect any drone & missile bombings this winter to change the war's basic status.

I guess Zelensky didn't get the message.
Time for the Fred Thompson/Hunt for Red October quote -
“This is going to get out of hand ...”
Neither Russia nor Ukraine will be allowed to end this war.
“Let’s see how the Ukie war cheerleaders are going to like $8 plus gas and $12 plus diesel.”
Look at the timeline of the gas and diesel prices. Both soared right after Trump attacked Iran. Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022 almost 5 years ago.
The vast amount of the spike in gas and diesel prices started after Trump attacked Iran 6 months ago.
ix Days After Ukraine Agrees to Halt Attacks on Russian Refineries – They Strike Kapotnya Refinery in Moscow, to Screw Russia Global Energy Markets, AND Trump!

Increasingly difficult to view Zelensky and Ukraine in his control, as an entity that can be trusted to deal honorably, in good faith and responsibly. Like Iran the truth is not in him and he sees that as a strength.
Zelensky is playing a game and the Ukranian people are hostages. EU & UK are cynically destroying lives with malice, indifference and contempt. They are inept, ideologically driven, a force for evil. Our CIA was in at the start, Global elites & Neocons still cheerlead and stir the pot.
May God bring the Ukrainian people through this Valley of the Shadow of Death safely.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Best you listen to Trumps recent comments.
“Ukraine target and bomb Russian oil refineries hours after President Donald Trump told him directly not to do so as it would increase the price of oil and diesel.
United States President Donald Trump on Sunday asked Ukraine to stop hitting Russian diesel refineries, blaming the attacks for creating a diesel shortage that he said was “hurting the world”.
Russia and Ukraine remain locked in an intensifying missile war, with Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil and gas facilities squeezing Moscow’s oil output, despite Russia being one of the world’s largest oil producers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post to Telegram that Kyiv’s long-range strikes “had a very significant impact in the Moscow region last night,” reporting a hit on “one of Russia’s key oil industry facilities” which he said contributes “billions of dollars” to Russia’s “war machine.”
“Moscow must end its brutal war and choose peace instead of building layered rings of air defense at the expense of other regions,” Zelenskyy wrote.”
Ukie strikes on Russian refineries have greatly elevated diesel, Russia is a world top producer. The Iran war elevating oil and gas prices....the one two punch, or perfect storm. It all started when the West blew up the Nordstream pipeline, fools.
In March 2025, at Pres. Trump's request, Putin & Zelensky agreed to stop bombing each other's energy infrastructure.
By all reports, that agreement did not last even 24 hours before Russians again hit Ukraine's energy grid.
There have been no successful agreements since then.
delta7: "Let’s see how the Ukie war cheerleaders are going to like $8 plus gas and $12 plus diesel."
The rise in gasoline prices (today $4.48 avg.) comes about 90% from events in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea, 10% from the Russia-Ukraine war.
The politics of it are tricky, since the Left wants higher energy prices to discourage use of fossil fuels, and supports Ukrainian resistance to Russian invasions.
So careful Republican messaging could shift the blame enough to neutralize the issue, potentially.
Impossible to say today how this will all play out.

“Russia is a major global producer of diesel fuel, with its six largest diesel plants accounting for roughly half of national output; however, Ukrainian drone attacks in 2026 have forced several refineries to reduce or halt production, cutting diesel output by about 20% in two months...
Overview of Russia’s Diesel Production
Russia is one of the world’s leading producers of diesel fuel. The country’s six largest diesel plants contribute to approximately half of its total diesel output.
Impact of Recent Events
In 2026, Ukrainian drone attacks have significantly affected Russia’s diesel production capabilities. Key points include:
Production Reduction: Diesel output has decreased by about 20% over two months due to these attacks.
Refinery Status: Several major refineries have either halted operations or are running at reduced capacity. For instance, the Kirishi refinery has been shut down, while others like the Volgograd and Kstovo refineries are operating at only a quarter of their normal capacity.
Current Production Statistics
Refinery Status Production Capacity
Kirishi Shut down 0%
Volgograd Operating at 25% capacity 25%
Kstovo (Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez) Operating at 25% capacity 25%
TANECO Recently attacked Unknown
Future Outlook
Due to the ongoing conflict and damage to infrastructure, Russia is facing challenges in maintaining its diesel production levels. The government is considering measures such as importing diesel to address shortages, which marks a significant shift for a country that has historically been a major exporter of diesel fuel...”
