he bison in Yellowstone National Park that seriously injured a man in a viral attack last week will not be euthanized after park officials confirmed the wild animal will remain in the park despite the shocking encounter.
Yellowstone officials said that "no management action" will be taken against the bull, according to TMZ.
The decision comes after the bison charged Carl Isom-McDaniel, leaving the grandfather with multiple broken bones that required surgery, Fox News Digital previously reported.

The frightening video, captured by wildlife photographer Mike MacLeod, spread widely online after the bison tossed McDaniel into the air before standing over him.
MacLeod previously told Fox News Digital he feared the animal was about to gore the injured grandfather and stopped filming to help drive it away.

"Once I saw the victim in the air, I stopped filming and ran with some other men to haze the bison away and to render aid," MacLeod said.
The photographer also said neither McDaniel nor his grandson appeared to provoke the animal.
The bull had already charged a group of teenagers before the grandfather and his grandson unknowingly encountered it while walking through the campground.
MacLeod said the pair attempted to leave after noticing the bison become active, but the animal ultimately focused its attention on them.

That's nothing. A Bison once threw my Grandfather 8 feet in the air.

In 1987 I brought home some buffalo meat from Colorado, and since it was such a rarity, we ate it for our Christmas dinner. Today, you can get buffalo, as well as venison and elk in the local supermarket. I much prefer buffalo to beef when it comes to hamburgers.
The bison hunted that guy. It started after him from about 50 feet away. Bison are really big, with really tough skulls.
Probably could have stopped him with a .44 mag, though.
Grandfather is lucky he survived.
The bison should not be punished.

it was the pickup truck probably noisy, caught the attention first and it pulled out leaving the grandpa and kid in its path.
Of course they will kill it, it’s what always happens.
Seriously, tho, I am glad Grandpa was ok in the end...he, at least, did not provoke the attack like some stupid folk do...

McDaniel and his grandson later came upon the bison while out for an evening walk, unaware it had already displayed aggressive behavior.
The pair briefly stopped to take photos before the bison stood up, MacLeod said.

Watch the video. The man and grandson did not approach the bison. The bison came toward them and appeared to be agitated (in rut). Bison chased them around a smallish stand of trees, caught grandpa and flipped him up in the air about 8 feet
One of the risks of walking around with wild big animals in proximity. Especially agitated ones.
I would guess more people are injured or killed walking around moving automobiles. Drivers and pedestrians notably more dangerous than bison.

Exactly correct. The grandfather and sun were mostly behind trees, as I recall.
About 50 years ago, I came across a bison on a steep slope in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It was about 50 yards away. No fence between us, nothing. I was a farm lad in early adulthood. I felt distinctly vulnerable and uneasy. Nothing between me and that huge, wild animal but 50 yards of grass and a few shrubs. Farm kids learn to respect large animals for what damage they can inflict, often without much intention.
I left the area. Large, wild animals are intrinsically dangerous, especially if they have not been hunted.
They have no fear of humans. It is hunting which instills fear of humans and keeps the population of wild animals respectful over time.
