Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on Thursday denied claims that Yemeni forces had targeted Mecca, calling the allegation "the lie of the age" and "a great slander," and claimed that the "Zionist enemy" represented the true threat to Mecca and other Islamic holy sites.
"The real threat is the Zionist enemy, which seeks to target all Islamic holy sites, including Mecca, Medina, and Al-Aqsa Mosque," al-Houthi said. "We are ready to confront it as an Islamic alliance."
Addressing the allegations against Yemeni forces, al-Houthi said: "This is an exposed lie intended to conceal failure on the battlefield and to incite others."

Really huge numbers of Muslims are in Indonesia which is not wahabbist. Indonesia’s form of Islam is much more sufiist which is is far far less violent. In fact Indonesia actively suppresses Middle East fanatics operating within it’s borders. It is also considering opening up diplomatic relations with Israel in addition to its current trade agreements. Attacking Mecca would align the most populated Muslim nation with Iran and against Israel. Not a smart move.

Indonesia is the kind of Islamic state we’d love to have as a neighbor. Hoky poky towards Mecca five times a day, no pig meat, fast on Ramadan, trip to Mecca once in lifetime, no wine or grape juice, male circumcision, it’s all good. And we’d leave them alone, and they’d leave us alone, and we won’t even saying anything about drinking camel p!ss, if that really is a requirement. Whatever.
