Former Vice President Kamala Harris plans to campaign with Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan next week in the party’s latest push to unify voters in a key battleground state that will help determine control of the Senate.
Harris and El-Sayed have spoken multiple times since she endorsed the progressive Democrat after his primary victory, but this is the first time they’ll appear publicly together.
Harris and El-Sayed will attend a roundtable focused on Black maternal health on Tuesday, according to his campaign spokesperson. El-Sayed is a doctor and the former head of health departments in Detroit and Wayne County.
“Vice President Harris looks forward to returning to Michigan to help turn out the vote in this critical state,” Eduardo Negrón, Harris’ spokesperson, said in a statement. “It is critical we flip the Senate so we can bring down prices and stand up to Donald Trump’s corruption.”
El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers, a former U.S. representative, in November. Republicans have repeatedly attacked El-Sayed, portraying him as the kind of “radical” liberal they say has taken over the Democratic Party.
The seat, currently held by Democrat Gary Peters, is among the must-wins for Democrats as they try to achieve control of the Senate. The party needs to flip four GOP-held seats to take a majority, if Democrats keep the Michigan seat. If Rogers were to flip Michigan to Republicans, the Democrats' challenge would be even greater.

How are dems going to lower prices
Not what they did last time
The Bee didn't see that one comin'.
She’s kissing all the @$$ she has to, to get those commie muzzie votes.
Black maternal health? Is this a joke? If it weren’t for the Margaret Sanger award there would be at least 45 million more black voters in this country.
Go ahead. Make Michigan California. Higher gas prices, higher taxes, more expensive electricity, more homeless. You vote for Abdul bin Laden, you deserve it.
Two of the things strict Muslims demand:
1. Women must get their husband’s permission to leave the house.
2. Women must wear a burka when leaving the house.
Will Kamala be following both these rules when campaigning for El-Sayed?
The article doesn’t say.
Liberals think that if they’ve dug themselves into a hole the way out is to dig up!
The word salad coming from those two will be gargantuan.
Will Tucker be there too? lol
Hopefully Kamala will torpedo Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign!
RE: Will Kamala be following both these rules ...
Kamala on speaking tour: “where’s that heebee jeebie thing I’m supposed to put on my head?”
Aide: “Your hijab was the gray cloth I gave you.”
Kamala: “Oh, crap. I just blew my nose on it. Get me a new one.”
Strong WOC heels up in a burka? Interesting play in identity politics.
kamala licked her finger, and stuck in the air to detect which way the wind was blowing, and so jumped ship from the Incompetent Democrat Wagon onto the Muslim American-hating Democrat Communist Wagon ...
“Thank You” says Mike Rogers.
“...dig up...”
Haha. Good analogy. Republicans need to start handing them shovels. MAGA already has.
Kamala on the move campaigning in Michigan.
Great shirt slogan.
Oh, she can handle a stick. That’s how she got into politics.
