WASHINGTON — A new report by the Pentagon’s Inspector General has outlined the costs of Operation Epic Fury. Among them: “hundreds” of buildings and “dozens” of aircraft left damaged or destroyed, over 400 servicemembers wounded and the expenditure of $22 billion in munitions that has left “strategic inventory shortfalls” for the US military.

The report, released today, provides the clearest accounting of the materiel damage that has occurred to US military assets since the start of the conflict with Iran. The report only covers from the launch of military activities on Feb. 28 to June 30, meaning that damage totals will increase the next time the IG issues a similar report.

Imagine if we waited for this war on their terms. When they say “Death to America” I believe them.

the expenditure of $22 billion in munitions that has left “strategic inventory shortfalls” for the US military.

Either this is true and the IG should be shot for revealing classified information that could do grave damage to US military interests. Or the IG is lying.

Imagine if we waited for this war on their terms.

Judging by the price of oil, the lack of ship traffic through the Strait, and no regime change, an argument could be made that Iran is fighting on their own terms.

If Iran were to nuke some of our cities ... how much would that cost?

What’s the point in making munitions if we can’t use them?

And that is probably a lot of munitions they whine about now.

Funny how this crap never came up during WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War 1, Gulf War 2...

Some FReepers believe our side should hide or lie about acutal costs or negative but factual reports regarding the Iran War. You know - engage in deceit and propaganda.

Like claiming "We Won" some 3 dozen times.

A single bullet or fragment hole is "damage" ...

My biggest issue is that our overall munitions manufacturing pipeline is way too narrow. The military is almost operating on a “just in time” replenishment program for the most basic military need, ammunition. I know this requires Congress and private industry as part of the solution, so I’m not exactly hopeful that this will be solved before China wants to dance.

How long did take for regime change in WW2?
This started in March of this year…we don’t need an “are we there yet” mentality.

This is part of a broad anti Trump Administration propaganda program led by ultra left wing press organs like NPR as well as the BBC and British Labor Party news agencies, and of course the standard mainstream Democrat US lefty news outlets. It is not helped by the tight lid that the Pentagon keeps on reports about operations. Sadly no one will report on US operational success unless “innocent” Iranian bystanders are hurt.
