An “anonymous donor” paid for the cremation of President Trump’s would-be assassin, Thomas Crooks, just days after the deadly Butler, Pa., rally shooting, according to federal records reviewed by The Post.
The revelation was included in a trove of documents provided to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), as part of his ongoing inquiry into the first Trump assassination attempt.
“Anonymous donor paid for cremation,” reads a note at the end of a summary of an interview the gunman’s father, Matthew, conducted with federal investigators.
The information appears to have been gleaned from a lawyer for the family, according to the document.

10 days was plenty of time to gather evidence. There would have been an autopsy.
Looks like they had more than enough time to get what they needed. And this way the state didn’t have to pick up the cost of disposing of him.
Yearick was the real “Shooter on the Roof”.

They had to cremate the shooter and dispose of the other one.
I have a dumb question: If his remains (such as they are presently) are exhumed for purposes of a second autopsy, will it be possible to extract a DNA sample?
Wasn’t the roof hosed off or pressure-washed later that same day? It’s a bit like the weekend rush to dig up and pave over the site of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
DNA is destroyed if the body is cremated. And of course, there can be no 2nd autopsy if there is no body. But they have retained plenty of samples from the autopsy along with a video of the same.
