US President Donald Trump on Sunday extolled the work of his special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner amid reports he was looking to elevate CIA chief John Ratcliffe in their stead with regard to Washington’s efforts to bring an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Asked about the matter by reporters on Air Force One, Trump highlighted Witkoff’s and Kushner’s work to secure a ceasefire-hostage release deal in Gaza last year.
“Look at Gaza, for example. Look at the fact that we got all of the hostages back,” Trump said.
“There’s not a lot of fighting in Gaza. Hamas is now willing to give up their weapons,” he added.
But Witkoff and Kushner’s work to bring an end to the Russian invasion of Ukraine has yet to bear fruit, and US officials have told their European counterparts the American spy chief is getting ready to play a greater role in the diplomatic efforts, the Financial Times reported last week.

Scant fighting in Gaza, Iran is begging for a peace deal, your DOGE dividend checks are in the mail, so are your tariff dividend checks, the war has been won countless times…just don’t call it a war, in June of 2025 all of the Iranian sites have been obliterated, setting back the Iranian nuclear program for a decade, and finally, help is on the way.
Nah, to believe Hamas is to call yourself a “fool”. Hamas needs money via aid to siphon off for their tunnel building and arms buildup. Hamas will never give up their weaponry. The only way to get rid of Hamas is to move the palis onto their own lands with their islamic brotherhood who have the land and money to build the palis their own home. But once they have their own nation, they’ll just be a thorn in Israel’s hide still.
Hmmmm. I love Trump, and does know the art of the deal, but I question his appraisal of Iran’s and Hamas’s desires to disarm. now or ever.
