The U.S. constitution offers the right to bodily integrity, but that does not include access to clean drinking water, a federal court just ruled in a divisive Mississippi case.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld a decision to dismiss a lawsuit brought forward by Jackson, Mississippi, residents alleging that city officials knowingly allowed people to drink lead-poisoned water.

I suspect the headline is trolling clickbait but ultimately it is constitutionally sound in a way.
This is a local issue. So the locals should be seeking relief from their local authorities. Pretty simple and straightforward.
Everybody gets trained in schools to think like progressives so therefore they think all of everything and the kitchen sink needs to be handled by the federal government.
Indoctrination succeeds. Sadly.

Yeah that was suspect too. But it was too generic, unlike this notion that for local water issues we need the federal government.
The government doing all this work means it can’t do anything well at all. Which is exactly the problem we are facing right now.
However if a private business offers a service and a patron gets sick/injured from that service the business owner is liable. It would stand to reason that since the government is providing a service of water that there should be an expectation that the water is safe.
Not in the water clause to the right to abortion?
He’s probably right. Is someone actually paying attention to the Constitution? Wouldn’t that be nice.

Yeah Ok, who’s the bonehead who thought clean water was in the Constitution? If your local government is so unresponsive and dismissive of basic civic duties you absolutely should sue them for abrogating a fundamental obligation of their office (proper management of public utilities).
No rights except to have Medicare For All, which the federal courts will probably uphold someday to kiss up to the socialists after the midterms.
Right there in the eleventeenth amenment.

The Constitution leaves most issues to legislatures, not judges.
Good decision. It’s wrong to essentially amend the constitution by finding these abstract obscure new “rights” within the 14th amendment. Especially when there are several state court remedies.
So, forcing the COVID shot on us was unconstitutional.
Along with violating the Nuremberg Code.
Yes, water is a local/states’ issue and the people of that locale must manage it though their local gov’t.
Just another thing that the federal government has no authority to do.
What constitutes “bodily integrity”? Need help from the judicial dept to explain this one. Does that mean we all get to go to the bathroom legally without protest?

We have water right out of the river and lead in our pipes.
My cat has never had a drop of it, we only use filtered water. Really cheap way to avoid poisoning.
