At least five people are dead after an Amazon cargo aircraft overran the runway during a landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, striking multiple vehicles on a road surrounding the airport, officials said.
There is no apparent threat to public safety at this time, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said during a news conference Sunday evening. The scene is still active.
“Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing,” an X post from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says.
More than 60 fire units responded to the scene to put out the fire, a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue told CNN.
“We can confirm that an Amazon Air plane operated by 21 Air experienced an incident while attempting to land at Miami International Airport today. This is a fast-moving situation and we’re still gathering details,” Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson, said in a statement to CNN. “We’re working closely with local authorities and officials to understand exactly what happened.”
“Right now, our absolute priority is the safety, well-being, and care of everyone involved. We’re doing everything we can to support those affected,” the statement continued.
The 32-year-old Boeing 767 was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and landed on runway 30, which is more than 9,000 feet long, according to FAA data.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it is gathering information about the crash and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
It’s not clear why the plane was unable to stop before the end of the runway. A review of air traffic control audio by CNN shows the pilots did not declare an emergency before the landing.

“Federal investigators examining why an Amazon cargo jet barreled off a runway at Miami International Airport and into vehicles, killing at least five people, are likely to focus on a crucial moment in the landing: whether the plane touched down too late to stop safely. Video of Sunday’s landing appears to show the Boeing 767 remaining airborne well down the runway before touching down. Aviation experts said investigators will seek to determine exactly where the plane landed and, if it was beyond the normal touchdown zone, why the pilots did not abandon the landing and circle back for another attempt.”
sounds like pilot error: DEI “pilots”? ... if so, they’ll hide all evidence which could indicate that ...

Oh. Wait.
Oopsie!
:-)
Moron is laughing as he watches people getting killed and injured and a plane worth tens of millions of dollars getting destroyed.
So far so-called reporters have not obtained information on whether the pilots or other crew were among those injured or killed in the accident, or whether blood samples have been taken of the pilots.
LAWSUITS PENDING FOR BILLIONS.
That is what I understand. Anybody that got near that plane in in Porto Rico will get testing.
As I learn more about this company, it doesn’t seem ignorant at all.
I saw that on Rumble yesterday, unbelievable callousness. YouTube also has dozens of videos of people laughing at other peoples misfortunes. Very sad the way so many people are non-caring today.
