Washington — Far-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos is currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, according to the agency's online detainee database.
Reports indicate Yiannopoulos, who is British, was in New Orleans ahead of a concert headlined by the artist formerly known as Kanye West scheduled for Friday night. TMZ first reported Yiannopoulos' status.
CBS News has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and ICE for additional details and the basis for his apprehension.

TMZ has to reach out beyond the “Thirty Mile Zone,” because Hollywood is rapidly dying.
Over stayed his visa?
Wasn’t there a recent revocation for Visa done by Marco Rubio froze like all Visa’s due to a battle with a judge.
Probably caught up in the judicial war between the Fed gov and activist judges who look for the flimsiest excuse to claim discrimination or other BS.
According to Ask:
Milo Yiannopoulos is in ICE custody because his U.S. visa status was brought to enforcement attention after he fell out of favor with senior Trump administration officials. He had been residing in the U.S. on an O-1 visa (for individuals with extraordinary ability) since 2017, and his increasingly hostile public remarks against President Donald Trump—including accusations that Trump “sacrificed his honour and his integrity” and that “Trumpism died” over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files—apparently triggered scrutiny of his immigration status.
Detention details: He was apprehended at an airport in Louisiana on August 28, 2026, and is being held at an ICE detention facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, a major deportation hub.
Deportation risk: The Telegraph and Forbes report he faces potential deportation to the United Kingdom.
Political context: Far-right activist Laura Loomer publicly claimed credit for the detention, alleging she had previously reported him to ICE and the FBI, though ICE has not publicly confirmed this connection. His presence in Louisiana coincided with Kanye West (Ye) performing at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans that same night, a connection that remains unconfirmed.
Guess he shouldn’t have overstayed his visa
Plus hes been here for a long time , seems like he could have become a citizen by this point
Great example of F.A.F.O.
What could those possibly be?
Sure would be nice to deport Kanye West!
So, a user can apply for one-year extensions indefinitely.
Making political statements could have resulted in extensions not being approved (which is at the will of any given administration) so his requests may not be approved, and if true, that would make him vulnerable to deportation.
I never cared much about the guy, but if it is true that he was making those comments, he has no right to the First Amendment as citizens do, and speaking out as a visa holder is, as men like to say, a way of stepping on your own crank.
ICE can make Leftists happy with their work too!
DHS just deleted its tweet about Milo
It’s back

On August 27, ICE arrested Milo Yiannopoulos, an illegal alien from the United Kingdom, at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in Kenner, Louisiana. Yiannopoulos legally entered the country on May 14, 2019, through New York City, New York. He chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.
Yiannopoulos was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on July 22, after failing to show up for his immigration hearing. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.
Being in detention is a choice. We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return
AND ... voluntarily departing (rather than involuntarily deporting) shows at least some minimal respect for us.
Overstaying a VISA is grounds enough. But if this is an example of selective enforcement because he was critical of Trump, it is wrong. He was a big supporter of Trump and it doesn’t read as if he has done a 180 by pointing out what he believes are flaws in Trump’s handling of certain issues.
Laura Loomer is an example of a female canine which has whelped pups.
Explain just how he F.A. Overstaying the Visa is certainly enough grounds to be held by ICE. Politically motivated enforcement because he does not agree 100% on Trump’s policies is another matter and should not be the trigger for coming to ICE’s attention.
I forgot he even existed and can’t remember what he did that brought him to our attention some years back...People come and people go...
First Amendment rights are not limited to citizens However if he challenges any deportation order he would probably lose since the government has grounds to do so. The government can also decide what those grounds will be.
