According to US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, an average of 9 million barrels of oil are passing through Hormuz daily, while between 5 million to 7 million barrels are reaching consumers through “newly upgraded pipelines and export facilities.”
Many ships moving covertly through Hormuz with US Navy assistance, going uncounted by analysts who rely solely on open-source data.
It also ignores the spectacular transformation of the oil export route that’s currently underway.
The United Arab Emirates is fast-tracking a new west-east pipeline to Fujairah, which will allow exports to bypass Hormuz at minimal cost lies outside the strait.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company announced in May that construction was about 50% complete, with operations expected to launch next year.
This means that the UAE can soon bypass Hormuz at minimal cost.
The Saudis are moving in a similar direction, seeking to add 1 million to 2 million barrels per day of capacity to their east-west network running to the Red Sea.
The United States should now actively work with its Gulf allies to eclipse Iran even further.
The US Development Finance Corporation, which possesses $205 billion in investment capacity, is uniquely capable of facilitating export routes that avoid Hormuz.
It can also demand a significant share of the equity in this burgeoning consortium, with the benefits passed on to American US taxpayers.
Stay the course
The situation further afield works to America’s favor too, as well with the United States continues to set records for oil and gas production and exports.

We have the specialized refineries in Texas and Louisiana that deal very well with thick, tar-like Venezuelan crude. Win-Win by President Trump when he got rid of stupid commie Maduro. Ally of China and Russia.

The IRGC calls the shots in Iran. My bet is that the Hormuz region IRGC calls the shots within the IRGC. That they also defy and act independently of IRGC central command in Teheran. They get pissed off at Trump, so want to hit an oil tanker with drones and missiles, they just do it.
Iran can go terrorize themselves in 12 mos, their oil will be not needed.

Once the strategic chokepoint at Hormuz is nullified, by diversion to other means and route of transport by oil pipelines overland to ports on the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, even to the Mediterranean, Iran shall be reduced to zero effect on the movement of oil in world commerce. And they still may not be able to load out their own oil from Kharg Island.
How badly does the IRGC have to be bleeding resources until they see the futility of their “brave” resistance to what they consider to be the oppression of the US and Israel?
They don’t even realize the incredible good news that report has. Oil transport is only down 25% of 20% of total oil production. Gas prices should beging lowering again and nothing Iran can do about it.

Bypassing Hormuz is long overdue and should have been done in the 1980s. The 2000s at the latest, as there were multiple viable bypass options presented at the time.
The NY Times said Iran is winning the war. To me, they are just a few months from irrelevancy. No oil, no money, can’t pay terrorists. When you can’t pay for your terrorists, they will go to the highest bidders, even if it means terrorizing Iran.
Those that doubted Trump are just months away from yet another humiliation, if the NYT is wrong and the Post is right.

Saudis are the leaders here. Their pipeline to the Red Sea can send 4-5 million barrels daily to their port of Yanbu . And this pipeline + Yanbu oil loading are being upgraded. Houthis are a menace at Bab Al Mandeb straits. But oil tankers also can head north through the Suez canal.
Saudi also has a 2x million barrels per day pipeline to Egypt >>>> Oil exports from Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Sidi Kerir have more than doubled to about 2.3 million barrels per day in August
Rule of thumb, The New York Times doesn't report what is happening, it reports what it wishes was happening.
