The Senate adjourned for a five-week recess early Saturday morning after passing a bill to fund the federal government until Dec. 11 and confirming Todd Blanche as attorney general.

Senate Republicans also agreed to set aside — for the moment — President Trump’s demand to approve another budget resolution to pave the way for tens of billions of dollars in new military spending and to pass the SAVE America Act.

John Thune's TOP priority was getting to the summer recess.

Intentionally dither from January till summer. That was the game plan.

I hate John Thune at the same level I hate terrorists. I wish every evil imaginable upon him. May he spontaneously combust. This is sabotage at the most naked level and I cannot understand why he wants to see his country returned to the Left. The hatred I feel can’t be politely described.

I cannot understand why he wants to see his country returned to the Left.

This is a multiple choice question. The answers to choose from:

A) Blackmail
B) Bribery
C) TDS
D) All of the above

John Thune was elected anonymously by the other dirtbag senators who wanted to hide their treachery from us.

Swamp creatures. If it were up to me... they’d wish Hamas had gotten them instead.

Recess is a euphemism for paid vacation.

If it was up to me I’d convene a Convention Of States and use it repeal the 17th amendment which was the direct election of Senators.

....”...The Senate adjourned for a five-week recess early Saturday morning ....”

a five-week recess...??!! do these dirtbags work so hard
they need a five-week break...?? how many of us in the
private sector ever enjoy a five-week break from our
jobs (and don’t forget...these legislators only work [sic]
Tuesdays through Thurdays anyway...)....

The 17th amendment is better than the state legislature picking them.

Is this a real recess, ie. one that allows Trump recess appointments? Or is it a fake one with someone staying behind to hold pro-forma sessions just long enough to block them. If the latter, maybe Mike Lee and a friend could sneak into one of those sessions and pass Save Act by unanimous consent. Just need to suborn one RINO gatekeeper to not make a quorum call. Two other options, which at least deserve Truth Social attention. Trump could use his constitutional power to either make it a real recess, or to drag them all back and force them into session. Don’t recall when those powers were last used, but they’re written into the constitution.

Why have a Senate then? The Senate was created to ensure that the state governments had control. With the direct election of Senators they lost that control . The whole point of State Governments is to do the things that the Constitution denied to the Federal Government. All of this centralization into the District of criminals has created a debt of 30 trillions dollars and growing!
