Suspect Abdul Ballout has alleged ties to Germany's Islamist scene, officials say
A suspect with alleged ties to Germany's "Islamist scene" is on the run after allegedly plowing a van into a crowd near Berlin's Pride festival and attacking others with a machete in what officials believe was an Islamic terror attack that left one person dead and at least 29 others injured.
German authorities on Sunday launched an intensive manhunt for Abdul Ballout, a German citizen with Lebanese roots whom officials say may be armed and dangerous.
"Everything we see here points to us dealing with an Islamic terror attack," German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said.

It strikes me as odd to hear them admit it was a Muslim terrorist attack.
So often they seem to downplay perpetrators of these sorts of crimes ,,and claim that there is no clear motive , or known motive.
It is refreshing to hear some clarity from public officials.
When Sharia law prohibits same sex unions and the state itself recognizes Sharia law which imposes a death sentence on violation of that law, how does the state justify any prosecution of the parties involved? One set of laws mandates a death sentence for an act, and the other supports and protects the very same act.
This time they specifically targeted gays. That is a big no no in modern Germany.
