Fauci to face Rand Paul in Senate hearing next week

Dr. Anthony Fauci will testify next Wednesday in front of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee after being subpoenaed, panel Chair Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Thursday.

Paul has been laser-focused on Fauci, the nation’s former top infectious diseases doctor, for allegedly covering up the U.S.’s involvement in risky viral research in a Chinese lab that the Kentucky senator says created the virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I expect he will not tell the truth,” Paul said in a Fox Business interview Thursday. “I don’t expect him to be honest, he hasn’t been honest in the last six years.”

The two men clashed repeatedly during heated Senate hearings when Fauci was leading the country’s pandemic response during the Biden administration.

Fauci retired from government service in 2022 and has repeatedly denied accusations from Paul and other Republicans.

Great. Another hearing. Report and stern letter to follow.

No one is going to jail.

Fauci has a pardon for what he did in the past, right?

The only way Fauci can get in trouble is to commit perjury in the future. He don’t dance around things or get artful or fancy. He will plead the Fifth more often than Hillary. Rand Paul will get nothing out of him.

Point of Order

Before there can be a conviction and jail, a case must developed with solid evidence required to result in the conviction.

The hearing is evidence that the process is underway

If he doesn’t take the 5th he’s an idiot.

Wrong. That was for crimes before 2024. He can take the 5th and probably should.

Hope for a revenge filled sniper to find him from his home to the hearing to remove him from using our nitrogen/oxygen.

Honestly I won’t be shocked to see this sort of exchange:

“Dr. Fauci when did you know that COVID was an engineered virus from China?”
“I plead the Fifth.”
“You have a pardon, sir. You cannot plead the Fifth.”
[shrug]

“Dr. Fauci, as Chief Medical Advisor to President Trump, what advice did you give him in August 2020?”
“I was never Chief Medical Advisor to the President.”
“That is a lie, sir. You are under oath. You most definitely were Chief Medical Advisor to the President.”
[shrug]

And nothing will come of any of this.

Before everyone trashed Rand Paul for “doing nothing”, Constitutionally, Congress does not enforce laws nor mete out punishment. The most they can do is temporarily arrest a person on a subpoena violation. But they can refer potential violations of law to the DOJ for investigation and prosecution.

If I were Rand Paul, I would take Fauci’s pardon and club him to death with it. Brutalize him in public.

Countless deaths, billions of dollars gone, a stolen election and in the middle of all of it sits this evil little prick. Justice.

Rand Paul??? Little beagle barking at Tony. Careful Rand. Fauci might sever your vocal cords. Better keep 6ft away just to be safe.

All bark, NO BITE.

We still haven’t established that the pardon is constitutional.

That pardon can only be good for his time in office....if it in fact, constitutional at all.

Doesn’t appear the DOJ wants to test that...if they did he should have been arrested by now. His crimes are very easy to identify and prove.

"Doesn’t appear the DOJ wants to" ...

Truncating your sentence right there really cuts to the heart of the problem. Jeff Sessions, William Barr, Pam Bondi ... rinse and repeat. Until the DOJ is swept clean of traitors to the Constitution and American way of life, nothing is gained by all this talk.
