A man walked into a California barbecue restaurant with a knife, already bleeding, and kept advancing after an armed citizen told him to drop it.
This happened at Lucille’s Barbecue in Los Angeles County — inside a busy shopping center, in a sit-down restaurant full of regular people just trying to eat.
That matters.
Because the armed citizen didn’t just draw and fire. He gave the man a chance to drop the knife. He gave him a chance to stop. But when someone is holding a blade, ignoring commands, and still closing distance inside a room full of strangers, the negotiation phase is over.
And here’s the part that makes this case so important:
This happened in California.
One of the most gun-controlled states in the country.
The same state that constantly tries to restrict what regular people can carry, how they can carry, and whether they can defend themselves at all.
But none of those laws stopped a determined man with a knife from walking into that restaurant.
The thing that stopped him was a concealed carrier.
Not a sign.
Not a policy.
Not a waiting period.
Not another gun-control talking point.
A regular citizen with a carry permit.
And there was reportedly an off-duty officer in the restaurant too — but he was a witness, not the person who fired.
So the next time someone tries to tell you the “good guy with a gun” doesn’t count unless it’s a cop, remember this case.
The cop was in the room.
The civilian stopped the threat.
California’s gun laws didn’t save that restaurant.
The one thing California keeps trying to take from law-abiding people did.

So, what was the conclusion?
Was Stabby Stanley popped & dropped?
Was there a ‘warning shot’ fired into the ceiling?
Or was the very sight of some Hot Iron enough to cause the troublemaker to simmer down and walk away?
Chef not getting paid enough?

Was the shooter charged? Is so, with what result?
Probably firing a gun with lots of people around - some Karen will sue for trauma/PTSD over the shooting. Somehow I bet some liberal law clerk will see to filing charges over the discharge.
I hope the guy with the gun knows a good lawyer. Knifeman might sue and there are judges who would agree with him.
This happened on July 19th. The police still have not released the name of the dead guy.My guess : he wanted to commit suicide by having someone else complete the deed.
I’m guessing both Stabber and Legally Armed Civilian are of the same race. Since there is not much potential traction for creating a big hulaballoo, we don’t hear much of anything right now.
Happened in Cerritos, ca...About 19 miles southeast of downtown L.A.
Apparently jdiot had crashed a truck (he had previously stolen elsewhere) at a Starbucks across the street from Lucille’s. Left blood in the truck, came into Lucille’s, started stabbing himself, running all over the restaurant, then started advancing toward the shooter. He did not obey commands to drop the knife, kept on advancing toward the shooter and shot by the permitted CC shooter.
The media reports the dead guy as “allegedly having a knife”, but does NOT say, that he was “allegedly” shot. They already didn’t believe the narrative. Never trust the media. They can’t report an event accurately.
Oh he definitely had a knife, a large hunting knife it appears in the screenshot I saw from a video camera in the restaurant.
Trust is easily lost, when reading current events.
My first thought is “this story should have a happy ending!’
But, in the Land of Fruits and Nuts, don’t count on it.
One no- no to emphasize is, “don’t shoot into the ceiling.”
Hope the armed civilian had state approved ammunition. And his CCW was up to date.
