Less than 24 hours after a triple homicide at a St. Paul apartment complex, prosecutors have charged a tenant with murder.
Deputies arrested 30-year-old Tsegaab Binessu in the Iron Range Monday night. He was formally charged Tuesday afternoon with the murders of 25-year-old Nansi Fuentes Zambrano, 56-year-old Dena Silcox and 43-year-old Adam Wilwerding.

No, he was an illegal alien, not an immigrant.
From AI online, federal law 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(5)(A) generally prohibits undocumented immigrants from owning firearms.
Also, from the report, he concealed the firearm, breaking even more laws if he possessed no permit to carry (unlikely for an illegal alien, one suspects.)
How did he obtain the gun? One suspects broken gun laws there, too.
