Warren defies Schumer as Dem civil war explodes over must-win Senate race
Fox News ^ | 07/20/2026 | Alex Miller

There’s a battle to shape the Democratic Party this fall, and two top Senate Democrats are taking different paths in their bids to put their mark on the process.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., endorsed Abdul El-Sayed in the duel for the Democratic Senate nomination in Michigan. It’s a break from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who is backing Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich.

The diverging endorsements are emblematic of the fight going on behind the scenes and publicly in the Democratic Party as the old guard fights to stand its ground, while a progressive surge threatens to completely overtake the party.

For example, Warren backed former Maine Senate Democratic nominee Graham Platner, while Schumer had courted and pushed Maine Gov. Janet Mills to get into the race.

And hours after Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., stumped for El-Sayed, Warren jumped into the fray.

In her endorsement video for El-Sayed on Monday, she noted that he was "the only candidate in this race not taking corporate money, and he's fighting to get money out of politics altogether."

"And make no mistake," Warren said. "Abdul is the only candidate in this race who can build the grassroots movement needed to win in November. More money in your pocket, to get money out of politics and deliver ‘Medicare-for-all.’ Michigan, let's get this done."

Notably, Warren had previously endorsed Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow, who dropped out of the race earlier this month. McMorrow was opposed to "Medicare-for-all," a key policy push of Warren’s.

The Democrat Party has two wings — the Extreme, Extreme Left, and the Extreme, Extreme, Extreme Left.

Warren wants the Islamists to take over. It shows how much she hates America. What an evil witch.

Once there were 3 nutjobs running for the Democrat Senate nomination in Michigan. Now there are 2 since McMorrow bailed.

It's fashionable to think that if the radical racist Muzzie defeats the radical congresswoman in the primary, that it's some kind of automatic GOP pickup (wrong) or at least that Mike Rogers (R) would be favored (probably also wrong).

The last time a Republican was elected to the Senate from Michigan was 32 years ago. Even in the heavy GOP year of 2014 the Republican was destroyed in Michigan, and (like 2024 and 2026) wasn't even running against an incumbent.

Rogers came real close in 2024 but couldn't close the deal even with Trump and his coattails on the ballot. Almost every statewide election in Michigan since 2018 has been close. Republicans have won zero of them.

It sure would be great if the GOP broke its 3-decade losing streak this year, but people can go ahead and hold their breath waiting for that at their own risk.

Why would they want to change? They’ve already got the best of both worlds with Collins.

Warren is all about Warren. Whatever she deems beneficial to herself is what she says or does. She lies, distorts, and has prostituted herself to the highest bidder.

Correct, a tossup vs. the Muzzie but “lean Dem” if Stevens wins the primary.

Friendly warning to Chuck Schumer:

Warren is known for sometimes carrying a scalping knife that belonged to her noble Indian ancestors. So don’t say anything too inflammatory to Ms. Warren, okay Chuckie?

Or maybe just wear a wig, and give it to her if she pulls out that knife.

The best thing that could happen is that the Slave Party would learn that the communists are losers for them because all the independents pulled the lever for R. It buys time against this demographic onslaught. Republicans still haven’t learned how bad the schools really are.

Also, it sure would be great if the GOP had somebody of substance at the top of the ballot for the Governor’s race, but.... proven loser and RINO squish John James vs. elderly non-entity Perry Johnson?

Yuck.

No inspiration there at all, aside from the usual “ANY Republican is better than the Democrat”. That’s true, but it would be better to give the base something worth voting FOR.

If there even IS any appealing Republican to run statewide in MI, he/she never came forward. That’s why we have John James 2.0 (Mike Rogers) running for the Senate. He’s not as bad as James, but not much better either.

Rabid hate-filled Democrats are always keen to vote AGAINST Republicans, but we can never match that enthusiasm on our side unless Trump is on the ballot and that enthusiasm is far from universal even when he was on the ballot.

Schumer is way past his prime and should have retired in the last election cycle. He used to be a force in the Democratic Party. Someone who you didn’t mess with. But he has lost his power and the party has passed him by. He’s a relic of a past time and he’s alternatively laughed at or used as a punching bag by the new generation. What Republicans say about him is tame compared to what the Left of his own party says. I’d almost feel sorry for him if he wasn’t such an a___hole.

She’s such a despicable person. She always panders to the most vile of the lowlifes in her party.
