US President Donald Trump urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call last week to begin withdrawing Israeli troops from southern Syria and Lebanon, Barak Ravid of Channel 12 and Axios reported Tuesday, citing American and Israeli officials.
According to the report on the Thursday call, Trump warned that Israel’s military presence in Syrian territory is creating tensions that could lead to an escalation, telling Netanyahu, “They don’t want you there. You should redeploy.” He reportedly made a similar request regarding Lebanon......
Netanyahu was said to push back, citing Israel’s security needs.

Why ?
I wish these things were not so public. Trump always puts things out there publicly without first making sure the objective is attainable. Not a fan of this approach.
Barak Ravid of Channel 12 and Axios reported Tuesday, citing [anonymous, i.e., fabricated] American and Israeli officials - so that putatively “more mainstream [e.g., WaPO/NYT]” media could republish the rumor with the tag “reportedly”, thereby turning it into anti-Trump “news” ...
It is DJT’s daily musings.
It would be nice if you could. Is not the same as it would be nice, you should.
If this is not true, then Trump or his administration should be able to easily deny this.
Israeli Times is like our NYT.
When history is written, we many find the USA has done more to keep Israel from taking off their gloves and defeating their enemies than any other nation.
“If this is not true, then Trump or his administration should be able to easily deny this.”
it’s a losing proposition to deny an infinite number of possible lies, and if you don’t deny them all, then the claim can be made that one must be true because it wasn’t denied ... esp. when nobody bozos are the ones making up the claims ...
best to say nothing and let the lies die a natural death rather than to feed the liars life-sustaining publicity ...
Trump, assuming he is like the seeds cast on poor ground, doesn’t seem to understand he should not be telling Israel to give back land God gave to their forefathers.
Normally this might be a “sources say” article.
But it fits a months long pattern of animosity by Trump against Netanyahu.
<< Trump warned that Israel’s military presence in Syrian territory is creating tensions >>
I’m sure it is. Tensions for jihadi types. The exact kind of people who need to feel the pain.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
Is Trump really urging Netanyahu to withdraw?
With Trump...who knows?
Why is Trump in love with the Al-Queda scumbag who seized power in Syria and then murdered dozens of Druze a few months later?
