President Trump on Tuesday backed off his proposed 20% toll for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz in favor of investment deals that Persian Gulf states will ink with the US.
Trump in a Truth Social post said the decision was “[b]ased on highly productive conversations with Middle East Leadership.”
“Those Investments will be MASSIVE but, at the same time, extraordinarily good for them, and their future,” he added...
Trump announced the new tolling scheme on Monday, declaring that the US would be the “guardian” of the Strait of Hormuz and would collect a reimbursement equal to 20% of the cargo’s value. One industry expert predicted that the fee could be worth nearly $200 billion annually.

Tuesday he announces no toll. Oil prices decline.
Every day a new policy. Or is it TDS to remember what he said the day before?
Its the Art of the Deal.
Someone needs to spill a cup of coffee on the keyboard of Trump’s Truth Social PC.
I don’t love the method but I think I see what he’s doing.
With the toll announced on Monday, the US pulls $200B out of the strait traffic and brings that money home to the US. No one else really benefits from the toll, although of course everyone benefits from a safe strait.
With the investment deal announced on Tuesday, the US receives lots of investment money from Gulf states. We get money (maybe not $200B) and they get improved infrastructure to safeguard against future oil blockades. And the strait is safe. Everyone benefits. Except Iran.
And with the back-and-forth, the price of oil gets whip-sawed and ends up lower overall.
There’s the possibility of the Trump Tanker Organization of Kuwait, Ltd., to be chartered by the gracious permission of the Emir of Kuwait.
It could buy tankers, arm them with stuff bought from Turkey, Israel and Ukraine and carry oil in and out of Hormuz. Naturally, it would be operated for profit.
There’s nothing Congress or any US court could do about that private Kuwaiti entity.
“Someone needs to spill a cup of coffee on the keyboard of Trump’s Truth Social PC.”
Why?
The post was up long enough for all the world’s TDS hypocrites to say ‘no one can charge tolls on the Strait of Hormuz, it’s international waters’ thereby setting up a “hey, Iran can’t charge tolls on the Strait of Hormuz’
The media and their trained seal guffawing public can make fun of Trump’s behavior and language all prime time all they want. Trump is still not going to care about what they say
<< “Those Investments will be MASSIVE” >>
Hopefully not the kind of investments nations like Qatar and Saudi Arabia have made in our academic institutions, brainwashing our youth to have a soft spot for Islam / jihad and to hate America and Israel.
“ Someone needs to spill a cup of coffee on the keyboard of Trump’s Truth Social PC.”
I thought your statement on this would end- “…on the poster’s keyboard. It’s been posted three times back to back”
“ it TDS to remember what he said the day before?”
It’s TDS to follow him so closely
Anyone who steps back and gives it months not days will be able to see the true pattern and results
He’s controlling oil prices and making a fortune to boot.
There is no Art of the Deal. Has Trump shown he can make any deal? For a self professed master negotiator, he can’t even negotiate with his own party to get anything done.
The Chinese need oil and they have a navy.
The Chinese navy could provide tanker escorts.
If the Iranians tell the Chinese not to escort vessels carrying Arab oil, the Arabs could tell the Chinese the Israelis could and probably will shut down the Iranian oil industry.
His stance on this has been clear since the 90s.
The US is footing the bill for other countries prosperity and we get nothing in return.
His idea of 20% is different than Irans idea of 20%. The ships were paying Iran based on their threats. It’s extortion.
They weren’t getting paid to protect shipping from the US. The US charging for protection against Iran. And everyone in the Gulf has been attached by Iran.
It doesn’t matter though. None of it matters. Russia and China are now officially in play. WWIII (or is it world war one hundred and eleven?) started. The US is rapidly approaching it’s civil war, and with the flock camera \ AI analysis and data centers being built to analysis that data the revolution will be in full swing as well.
China and Russia are going through the same thing too. Maybe not civil war but revolution for sure.
Then the sun releases an X20 flare, the global grid goes down and it’s all over. God has spoken.
People will eat each other for a bit then an X1000 flare knocks the entire planet over and peace will finally be at hand. I do believe that last step is what our president is actually preparing for.
And yet, only last month, Rubio announced that it was illegal for anyone to impose any kind of toll.
'It's An International Waterway': Rubio Says No One Allowed To Impose Toll On Strait Of Hormuz.
Of course, I'm sure some will jump in, "Oh, it was never a toll toll, it was a payment for safe passage toll."
And the insiders play pump & dump, the super rich getting richer, which we're supposed to cheer because "markets!"
Correction: 45-47. The dash matters.
Are you talking about Rubio?
'It's An International Waterway': Rubio Says No One Allowed To Impose Toll On Strait Of Hormuz.
I assume Trump cleared and approved Rubio's statement. So I guess Trump suffers from TDS?
You can’t negotiate with people whose only mission is that you fail. Not to mention Congress is worthless as a poopy flavored lollipop (name that movie).
They fall for it all the time. Especially the woke media. He’s a genius.
