Teen killer Karmelo Anthony is seeking a new trial and wants a different judge to oversee any future legal proceedings in his conviction for the murder of Austin Metcalf, his defense team has revealed.
Just last month, a jury in Collin County, in the suburbs of Dallas, took less than three hours to convict the 19-year-old of murder over the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in April 2025.
The same jury sentenced Anthony to 35 years in prison, rejecting his claim that Anthony acted in self-defense.

He just wants out of his prison cell - any attorney that takes his case will be an anathema with his colleagues.

IMHO his parents are seeking a new excuse for a new GoFundMe. They’re not done milking the racist money from Democrat cheerleaders who reward murderers of whites.

In some countries it’s risky to ask for a new trial, because you could end up with a much harsher sentence the second time around.
Is that true in the United States?
To: dadgum
These people have been raised to expect endless mulligans and "do-overs". They have been raised to expect that. But sometimes, "the buck stops here".
These people can't wrap their head around that. Usually by their 10th year in stir, it finally dawns on them: “Karmelo. this is your life.”

Am I right that I read here previously that he could have offered to plead guilty long ago. And would have gotten a much lightrr sentence.
But that would mean his family had to give back the go fund me money and they were no way we going to do that.
They kept the money and he got 35 years.
